      @Imperious:

      Dont have official release date.

      8 nations, like 1914 plus minor allies. Types of units will be posted soon under this thread, but like triple the types of 1914

      Can’t be scaled down, sorry. If you play global 40 you will be fine.

      Im sure HBG will carry this.

      Will there be any terrain features?

      Oh ok man thanks. I know I’m asking alot, it does like a good game that’s why, but how big is the board in inches (And cm if you want)? And do you think the 110-120 dollar price tag fits? Like isn’t that 10-20 bucks a little much?

      I don’t remember what I paid for A&A 1914, but I’m assuming it must have been 80-90 euros. Considering that this game is going to include unique sculpts, additional unit types and is in all likelihood better playtested than any A&A game for that matter, I’ll gladly pay $110-120 for it.

      It will have enough pieces , and piece junkies will be able to order complete sets in not only the standard colors, but others representing Spain, neutrals, Bulgaria, etc.

      It will be around $119.00 and weigh in about 12-14 pounds because the map is huge and mounted.

      Sounds fine to me. Will you be accepting paypal and shipping to Europe?

      Great job. It makes me want to buy it. Where can I buy? How much is it? I just need the game. But really great job, this game looks better than A&A 1914. But does it have enough pieces to play? Is it play tested to see if it’s fun, slightly simple in a way, has enough space?
      Again where can I purchase?

      Certainly very interested too! Will keep a close eye on this one!

    • RE: Larry Harris 1914 Tournament Rules ( "potential rules" using his language)

      @Krieghund:

      Land units can move two spaces and attack only if the attacked territory was already contested at the beginning of the turn.  If the territory was hostile or neutral at the beginning of the turn, they may only move one space to enter it and attack.

      Are the tournament rules on the first page of this thread still current? I’m asking becuase it seems to read something different from what is being said here…

      Want to try this game (again) soon, but as yet I’m undecided about whether to use the official rules or the tournament rules.

      Other than the fact than the official rules slowing down play (movement value of just 1 for land units), is there any reason why I shouldn’t use them? I have to admit I do like the rules for political and economic collapse from the tournament rules! I do believe the move 1 is defensible; most movement did occur, on this scale, as far as I know on foot…

      I for one would like to see French set next, to me it’s an aspa. Then Russian there’s tons of good options there. not really sure of a 3rd set after that. I can list enough Russian pieces that it would take 2 sets to do them all. Facilities i can’t wait for too.

      Speaking of which… Coach is there any kind of time line in place for the French set?

      German Set 3 is in final stage,
      1936 Base Set (Militia Factories, TBD, Cavalry, etc)
      French Set

      Third on the list doesn’t look too bad. When could we expect that set to be available then, give or take a few months?

      I’d like to know that too. It’s actually been the set I’ve most been looking forward to ever since it first appeared on HBG’s website!

      Doug,

      Have you and the guys ever thought of using Youtube and other forums to advertise some of your already existing product? Many of your battle markers and tokens would be gobbled up by Flames of War and Bolt Action players. I think a demo of HBG minis being used for Memoir '44 battles would also be a boon to your sales. Lastly there are players who play other games that may become interested in Global War when they see what they might be missing out on.

      I listen to several podcasts in different genres of war gaming. They frequently point their listeners to small companies that make accessories or custom minis simply because they love the product. Often, (like HBG) the smaller companies they advertise or mention make a less expensive and superior product to the OOB pieces and accessories.

      True and I would also like to restate my point that even though I agree that the French set will not have high priority for some for use in A&A or one of ots variants due to the limited time most of these units will actually be on the board, they are truly looked forward to by others who would (also) like to use them e.g. for memoir '44. Words to that effect (“and for use in other miniature games”) can even be found on HBG’s home page. I saw the French set on HBG’s site many years ago and have been anxiously awaiting it since, so I’m hoping it’ll see the light of day in 2016 or 2017!

      I would second this. Particularly in regards to price. Most miniature games use metal models and are far more expensive than HBG’s plastic ones. I don’t know of any other company in the business of making A&A scale plastic sculpts for WWII. HBG makes a very attractive and affordable product in a niche market that can be quite expensive for quality miniatures.

      Should I order from the states? I understood that Germany was no longer supplying. I am in England.
      Thanks.

      I ordered the US units and the German units from there and will be placing an order there soon for the Global '36 map along with the player aids and have been corresponding with the guy in charge there as recently as two days ago, so that would really come as a surprise to me as I’ve heard nothing to that effect…

      Hey Coach. If you don’t mind answering, can you say about where the pre-orders are at as far as how many have been shipped? I think I’m not sure how many people ordered before I ordered mine but I’m salivating to get my hands on them. Anyways the models look great and I’m green with envy for you guys that have yours.

      PS. Thanks Doug to you and the HBG crew and all your hard work!

      We are well over halfway, probably be finished in 2 weeks or less.

      Does that include the orders placed in Europe which are to be distributed by the German subsidiary?
