I’m between Buffalo and Rochester and would love to be part of a quarterly A&A group in the area.

    • RE: Axis & Allies .org 2017 Support Drive

      Sooo….
I donated $10 and received my prized 2017 Bronze Badge (thank you very much), and would like to know if it would be acceptable to followup with a $25 donation and receive a Silver Badge and proudly display both badges for 2017? :-D

Not that I’m looking to “buy badges” or anything as nefarious as that, not in the least.
I am wholly motivated by an honest and pure desire to provide an acceptable level of support, within my budget, for the website and organization.

This train of thought started from a desire to ask about upgrading from my (what some might characterize as a humble/lackluster) initial donation, and then I thought…hmmmm… what if?..

just askin’ all in good fun, :-D

    • RE: Patron Perks

If you’re still looking for relevant/cool/inexpensive ideas for aaa or bbb, how about some Roundel Coasters from HBG?
      (insert URL code here).historicalboardgaming.com/HBG-60-pt-Beverage-Coasters_p_388.html

I just got mine in the mail yesterday and they’re a great add (along with a Ger airship for AA1914).  Happy days :-D.

      Just sayin’/suggestin’

Sorry, you are not allowed to post links s18.postimg.org/xx8f3bz61/HHo_A.gif  awww mannnn…it was a cool/funny gif too…snifle

      So,

My first Online Noob Player Post (ONPP)  :-D

I have TripleA loaded on my laptop (at home) and am fairly certain I have all the current map updates (last played/updated around August 2017), and I’m guessing the following procedures:

Step #1: Post/reply to a game request here.
Step #2: Find other player(s) and arrange a time to start playing using the TripleA online service. (correct?)
Step #3: Save game as needed and resume game play when opponent/allies time schedule coincide. (correct?)

I am going to presume that there is a mechanism for saving a game as it progresses so everyone doesn’t have to be online simultaneously, correct?

      Apologies for too many questions.

      Thanks in advance,
      GM

    • RE: Hello Everyone

Hey FH, I am a noob (for the site), too.

What is your general geographic location, and are you interested in face-to-face (ftf) games?

Looking forward to the chance to be an Ally with you some day soon in a forum game,
      General Mayhem

General Mayhem reporting for duty, sir/ma’am.
Currently posted in the general Buffalo, NY area, but I am willing to TDY somewhat to meet up to play.

I have been playing various versions of A&A since ~1988, but have never participated in a tournament nor an on-line A&A game.
I’ve done PBEmail Diplomacy in the past, but that is a different animal.
Over the years I have downloaded and played a few TripleA games against the AI, but it is never as satisfying as FTF.

After watching General Hand Grenade’s video of Young Grasshoppper’s 2017 tournament and GHG’s wish list video, I am stoked to play A&A (anything).
Looking forward to gearing up to acquire and learn Global and hopefully attend Young Grasshopper’s 2020 invitational.

I’ll be looking for help on how to join and play a TripleA hosted Global game sometime soon, just have to figure out the time commitment(s) and mechanics of joining (I think I should have a good/basic understanding of the game itself, but will hunt down a copy of the rules ASAP).

      So in salutation,
Well met all-ya-all’ (and ‘Aye’, "Oi’, ‘Ciao’ and ‘Yo’ to all our Canadian, Aussie and friends across the globe),

    • RE: 2020 Master Players List Version 3.0

      Name: GeneralMayhem
      Location: Batavia, NY
      Games:
      (Own/Have Played)
      Axis & Allies 1914 (2013)
      Axis & Allies 1942 2nd Edition (2012) (I have a 3-ft x 5-ft map)
Axis & Allies 1942 Anniversary Edition (2008) (I have a 3-ft x 5-ft map but have not played a full game by these rules)
Axis and Allies Revised Edition (March 2004)
      Axis & Allies Pacific (2001)
      Axis & Allies Europe (1999)
      Axis & Allies Classic (1986)

Axis & Allies Miniatures (Intermediate # of pieces but I’m not that good at it, my son always wins)
Axis & Allies Miniatures Naval (Starter set x2 plus a few extra pieces but I’m not that good at it, my son always wins)

      Plus:
      Diplomacy (I have a copy) boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/483/diplomacy
Supremacy (I have a copy with many expansions) boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/27/supremacy
      Risk (I have a copy) boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/181/risk

      Also interested in playing:
Star Trek: Ascendancy (2016) boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/193949/star-trek-ascendancy (I don’t own it, but would be willing to pick up a copy)
      Fortress America (1986) boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/99/fortress-america (I have a copy)
      Shogun (1986) boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/221/ikusa (I have a copy)
Castle Risk (do not own) boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2557/castle-risk

Note: I am willing to host/co-host tri-annual (i.e. 3x per year, sorry summer is dedicated to other activities) gaming weekends at a cheap/relatively close hotel.

On Edit #1: Conceptually, one in spring (i.e. Feb/Mar 2018) one in fall (i.e. Oct/Nov) and one in the winter (i.e. Dec/Jan).

On Edit #2: After watching General Hand Grenade’s excellent 2017 holiday shopping guide video (youtube.com/watch?v=4dNu24CGMuI&feature) (and if anyone is interested Item #1 is on my wish list :-D ) I have a much better sense that Global is the game to play around here (unfortunately for me I have the older versions of Europe/Pacific). So I will be working to obtain and play that version so I am prepared for Young GrassHopper’s invitational in 2020.

    • Buffalo/Batavia/Rochester, NY

      Looking for WNY (Buffalo/Batavia/Rochester) games/players.

If there is enough interest/commitment, I would be willing to host (i.e. pay $) for a 1-day/night group game at a local (i.e. central/cheap/Batavia) hotel conference room (neutral/public territory).  I already scoped one out in Batavia (easy to find immediately off the Thruway and next to Bob Evans).

A&A, A&AM, Diplomacy, Supremacy, Risk, Fortress America (old/original), or anything similar.

      Thanks,
      General Mayhem
