RE: Greece and Crete
@panther Thanks for the response.
So, as Greece is pro-Allies, GB (say) entering Greece would or would not also get control of Crete? Would GB have to send a unit to Crete to gain control?
If Germany (say) invades Greece and defeats her home units, Germany would also have to send a unit to Crete to gain control, yes?
In either case, what happens if neither Power sends a unit to Crete - does it just remain as a tiny pro-Allies neutral? -

RE: Accurate Miniature Equivalents for Custom Painting your 1940 E&P
@Most:
I checked with Allwork earlier if it was OK to post the pics here, he’s a tremendous influence on all of us that paint these, I can’t wait to see his German infantry. I’m painting the Italians now. I have them almost done I just have to paint the bases. I’m going with the three gun flag for mine, I hate painting circles :wink:
there not guns their called fascists. and it’s a bundle of sticks w/ a ax in the middle.
It’s “fasces”, actually…. during the Roman Empire they were a symbol of office carried into the Roman Senate to indicate that the Senate was in session. Mussolini adopted them as an emblem to represent his “reestablishment” of Italian authority and the new Roman Empire. The word “fascist” came fom the use of the emblem.
(Dang… the things that stick in your head 40+ years after Latin classses! :roll: )
Still easier to paint than that roundel, however. :-D

RE: How Long to Play?
Thanks for the information, everyone (although I think I’ll take “20 minutes per game” with a grain of salt. :roll: )

How Long to Play?
I have recently aquired both A&A Europe 1940 and A&A Pacific 1940, and want to start playing them with my local gaming crowd. I’d like to play the two games individually first, and then set up the Global 1940 version and try that.
Realistically speaking, how long should it take to comple the these games? (We’ll have to deal with scheduling issues.) Our group has played various versions of A&A in the past, are generally familiar with the rules, and played the Anniversary edition game (once) when it was first released. We’ve got enough people that each Power will probably have a separate player.
Thanks in advance for your help…
