RE: ANZACS in European theater
Also, what about bringing the Anzacs over to Brazil? Has anyone ever done that?

ANZACS in European theater
Has anyone thought of bringing the Anzac planes into the European theater to use as a can opener for the US/British… I’m think specifically of an example were Italy builds a destroyer the anazac planes can take it out, allowing the US to move through the area the destroyer was blocking.

Pacific Idea with US
Has anyone ever done this? Move a US transport with a troop from Hawaii (U1) to sea zone 54 and bring the 2 US ships from the Philippines as well, then (U2) bring the ships to Java (sea zone 42). When turn 4 comes around you drop the troop to take French Indochina and then reinforce with British troops. Next turn you can build a US minor industrial complex. Thoughts?

Rules question
Ok let’s say that the UK made an unprovoked declaration of war against Japan. Could the US move (on noncombat) into sea zone 54, (next to Queensland), with Anzac ships in that sea zone as well, and if Japan attacked that area would it be considered an attack on the US?
Thanks

Movement/order Question
Hi. I have a question about combat order, here’s the specific example. Glibatar has an Airbase in it and 2 American fighters and 1 British tactical bomber. there are 3 unguarded transports in sea zone 94. I have 2 bombers in range. Can I bomb the airbase first, hopefully get a 3, putting it out of action, and then attack the transports because the aircrafts can’t scramble. Is that allowed?
Thanks.

Research
Does anyone have an alternate research rule that they have used? I couldn’t find any that encompassed new way of doing research and more tech developments.

Railroad
Has anyone ever used railroads in global 1940? Railroads were critical for Russia and Germany. the US and British also focused heavily on bombing railroads before Dday. Thanks.

Intelligence
Has anyone ever incorporated intelligence into global 1940? US and British code breakers played a huge role in the war. Also, soviets were able to move troops from Siberia because they knew the Japanese weren’t going to attack them. Just curious, thanks.

Victory in Europe
Is it possible to get all 8 victory cities before the US enters the war. I’m thinking like T5.

Blocker Question
Can the US block Japan if there not at war?
The specific scenario is T3 And Japan has a navy and transports at the Caroline islands. The UK declared war on the Japanese on UK T2. The Japanese want to attack Kwangtung via amphibious assault, however there is a US destroyer is sea zone 21. So the question is can Japan move past the US destroyer and attack Kwangtung.
Thanks!

RE: How to stop Russia after Sealion
To more directly answer your question, here are some tactical suggestions that assume a standard-ish G1 of ac/dd/ss:
1. G2, stage all your mobile units in Germany (should be 9 tanks + mech)
2. Use all Nor/Fin/Den inf for the invasion (should be 9)
3. Move all the inf/aa/art you’ve got southeast, to SH and Romania (make sure you bring the Bulgarians with you)
4. Keep the Italian air corps in range to bomb the London airbase I2
The goal here is to prevent Russia from stacking Eastern Poland, still be able to Sealion, and get a headstart on getting to the Balkans, which are what really matter. Poland is the least important territory to defend, as it’s the easiest to retake.
EDIT: You will need more than 9inf/9tank for the invasion, yes (should have 10tt, plus G2 land in Scotland). Keep a few inf back in Germany and use the Paris art to round things out.
Thanks that’s helpful! What is your strategy in the pacific?

RE: German IPCs
30(base) + 19(France loot) + 2(Finland) + 1(Bulgaria) + 2(Yugo) + 4(France) + 5(NO Peace with Russia) + 5(NO Norway, Denmark) = 68
Thank you! I didn’t realize that Germany got those 19 points from France. So for example if Germany takes London on G3 does Germany get all those points as well? (I think it’s something like 28)

German IPCs
Can someone explain to me how people are getting 68 income on G2. That doesn’t make sense to me.

How to stop Russia after Sealion
I have successfully done sealion the past 3 games. However, the problem for me has been that Russia is very strong and it’s almost impossible to hold them off. So does anyone have suggestions for stopping Russia?

RE: Germany Opening Move I've Been Trying
A German opening I’ve been having success with involves taking all the UK DD’s off the board.
Opening buy: Carrier, Sub, DD
Standard attacks on Paris, Southern France and a strafe of Yugoslavia.
What I do on the water:
2 subs to 106; 2 subs to 91; 1 sub, 3 fighters & 3 tac’s to 109; 1 BB, 1 fighter, 1 tac (can land on the carrier) and 2 bombers to 111.
106 and 91 usually end with 3 subs surviving. The other battles are dependent on scrambling obviously, but I like my odds no matter what.
If UK scrambles 4 planes to the 109 battle then they’ve hurt their chance at a successful Taranto (especially if the battle in SZ91 goes as planned) and left themselves wide open to Sea Lion. Even though Germany would lose a few planes I’d gladly welcome a scramble in this situation.
I’ve done this a couple of times in face to face games and ran it about ten times using Triple A; the result is usually 3-4 German subs left on the board (not counting the one that was purchased) with nary a DD in the Atlantic to do anything about it.
Just to see how it would go I tried it a few times with the UK scrambling its 4 planes (well, one belongs to France but who cares about them) and the results aren’t any better: UK loses the RAF while taking out (usually) two fighters and a tac. With the RAF out of commission the Germans can buy as few as 5 transports and still take London turn 3, not to mention Italy gets to keep more of its ships than usual.
Thoughts? Questions? Holes in my plan?
I have done this move the past couple times I’ve played. However, I have found that a strong USSR player can ruin Germany because all german resources are going towards Britain… I’m not exactly sure how to prevent this, so this is my only issue with this plan.
