It wasn’t on Global but for the original 1998 (I think) computer Axis & Allies game. I invaded Japan with a big army supported by 10 air units .
During the AA roll the computer got 10 out of 10 ones… destroying my whole airforce. Ha… and people say computers never cheat. Anyway, I took the CD rom out of the drive, threw it across the room, and took a week off from the game.
Anyway, I think the odds of getting such a result for the computer enemy was 1 out of 60,000,000 or something.
Ha, my nephew let my Russian ships leave the first game when Russia was neutral because I said please but I didn’t expect he would.
…but after a bitter game that never happened again.
I still laugh how most of our games end with Russia’s small Baltic fleet surviving and just sitting around drinking vodka.
We are just a bit confused as to the mechanism of RPCs? Do you get them from just occupying the territories with the numbers on them, or do other territories count?
And when can you use them for both sides. It may be easier than I think, we’d just appreciate an authoritative explanation.

We just bought Axis & Allies Europe 1940 for our nephew and we will be playing it and also combining it with Pacific 1940. Just have a few quick questions on France. I assume it can’t buy an industry after France falls, is that right? And does it collect any IPCs and can it produce anything, even infantry overseas, like China (until France is liberated of course).
Just curious if the rules also align up for Global as well as just Europe.

As a veteran of many A & A games over countless years where a stupid transport defending at a one has killed so many battleships, carriers, bombers, and fighters, I was dancing once they put in the defenceless rule.
Like c’mon, so many strategies, moves, and turns were dependent on a single battleship, bomber, etc, destroying a unit that in military history and common sense would have always lost.
Because I refuse to believe a lone U.S. transport would destroy a Yamato class battleship.

@dazedwit It’s a toss up between 51 (with Samoa) and 120 that has the Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba 1 IPC.
The first because I’m sure there’s rarely been battles there and I can see the islanders saying “what was that noise?”
The second because I live in Saskatchewan and Love that it has to share a single IPC with Alberta and Manibota.

Not sure if I imagined this but in Global 1940 can you ignore enemy transports (assuming that’s all in the sea zone), do an amphibious assault, and use your bombardments (if you don’t attack the transport with those ships?)? And is it the same with enemy subs?
Also, and I assume this a no, but if you can ignore those units with your naval force could you bring air units to attack the transport separately.

Not sure if I’m at the right forum but for the 2004 revised version I’m curious about the Kamikaze National Advantage.
Specifically, if Japan can use both fighters and bombers, if it can attack any kind of ship (I assume not subs) and if the target is blown up right away or needs a successful roll.
I assume it needs a roll b/c why wouldn’t you just save up fighters to take out battleships and carriers but I’d appreciate the actual rules.
