Is that French aircraft carrier ever going to actually be built?

Could a russian carrier be used as an early leap frog for allied planes to Moscow?

I mean, there are other better methods I’m sure (Persia)  but it could prove interesting.

Even better, the russians could move the carrier to boost British fighter range and open additional landing zones.

Don’t you think making all the french pieces would be a waste since you really won’t get the chance to use them. It would be like classic again with the Russian cv’s and bb’s. I’d rather see the effort and money put into pieces to represent Air and Naval bases.

No.  And it certainly wouldn’t be a waste to do the Italian pieces right since they are sticking around.

It isn’t a $25 game with generic pieces, it is a $100 game.  I find it surprising that with so much other attention to detail, and the obvious interest in the European theater (since it sold out quickly) that the decision was made not to do it right the first time.  It would seem to be a logical stepping stone to expanding the game anyway.

As for air and naval bases, I don’t mind the cardboard pieces.   They aren’t mobile anyway and really are only markers for the territory, not units.

Hey, if they make 'em great! I’m just not getting my hopes up to see it happen anytime soon. Cause at $100 like you said, I think they would have already made them if they wanted to. To me, I can play with what they gave me and have a good time.

As for attacking France, I only attack Paris.

As for SZ 93, I only need 2 air units (1 Fighter, 1 Tactical Bomber) and with that, I outgun the French Navy. (Though, I do send 2 fighters and 1 tactical, for better odds, I just dont have too.)  2 Fighters, Tactical from W. Germany.

W. Germany to France
France to S. France
S. France to SZ 93
(Battle)
SZ 93 to SZ 95
SZ 95 to either S. Italy or N. Italy

Amen. Sounds like it worked for you because it is possible that not all Russian players will send everything to Moscow. They leave too much holding the other cities and its all yours because of out-maneuvering their slow infantry.

In the game I just recently played Russia took a aggressive stance. Germany took England on G2 and attacked Russia on G4. I would say I wasn’t in the best possible spot but when Russia decided to hold ground and counter it made it much harder for Germany. I would say the key to a Russian success ( slow the Germans) would be a Airforce. From there you are able to counter attack with Inf. and Art. all across the front.

I realize that Eire is useless. The irony is the fact that the easiest, and perhaps the most realistic (as in won’t attack a true neutral) way for France to capture a territory is for it to capture something that doesn’t matter, underscoring the dismal state of France in general.

I typically play with 2-3 people. Too many people makes the game waaaay to slow and too few makes it too boring.
