    • Magnets: what to use behind board

      Hi,
      I can’t find the old thread where people used tiny magnets to secure planes to carriers. So i got the magnets, and plan on a board on my wall with units with magnets on the bottom. What to use as the metal behind the board? Suggestions?  I know they said in the thread something about sheet metel. Any other ideas?

      How do I take capitals DEFENSIVELY again?  Is that like a forward retreat or what?  If you are playing Defence, how are you able to attack 2 capitals simultaneously… please let me know.

      I think what he means is to hold the original setup territories until you build up a sufficient surge force, then spew all over the 2 capitals in one foul swoop/move……with such force they can’t resist. Kind of like jacking “on” lol :mrgreen:

      How do you reach Moscow from Poland in one move? Or London? How stupid are the allied players to allow this?

      I meant move as in moves……but yes, i’d hope the allies wouldn’t let it.

      in my game it allowed germany to take russia and britian AT THE SAME TIME!  also same w/ japan(who ingored inda(sorta) and hid usa hard.)

      simply world donmonation AXIS!

      I don’t see how that could work, allies would build up too much taking out other territories etc. and when USA comes in……end of story. Japan is simply too weak to ignore money and can’t match a 85+ USA.

      In such games, what if Russia and US share a territory?

      The pre-req would be to withdraw to your own territories.  I know, the idea would extend the game to mega hours, but……if global domination is your vice, then why not?

      Oh well. Nice to fantisize…Like if germany and Italy win, then they fight it out and if allies win, then the last 3 empires fight for influence. USA, FRANCE, and UK (with ANZAC)

      In my game, if USA does a Kill Europe First, and ignores Japan, then Japan gets too powerful.  My japan now has India, Anzac, most of china, and in 3 turns can take Russia if Italy doesn’t do it first. I’d play balanced. Send bombers east and west to support the other allies?

      The odd thing is, USA ignored the pacific after i took out a bunch of jets as they attacked the japan mainland….then he just built a ton of $20 battleships with no transports or any land units. That is probably the reason i’m winning.

      Well, i’m actually playing the axis, so i’m glad everyone thinks i can win. I know some debate sea lion and if it should be done, I didn’t….just took france and pushed eastword.

      Hi, I’m at end of R-6.

      Japan has taken ANZAC, INDIA, most of CHINA.

      Italy has the MED, almost all of africa, the middle east and is almost on Moscow (industry in Iraq) with super-subs able to hold off USA navy and makes more than Germany, and even has the top UK territory.

      Germany gave up on russia, sending all eastern units to help Italy, and is ready to build subs to counter USA.

      Since Russia will fall within 3 turns, and i can sub the north atlantic and land in UK eventually…Will USA and UK be able to win? Japan at 72 will soon concentrate all on USA.

      Take 2 italy transports with the 4 units to Gibralter, then land German planes, then italy can invade mexico, then take the german planes to mexico to support a KAF japan attack on western usa

      One of those transports usually dies in the UK1 Taranto raid.  SZ 90 and SZ 88 can easily be blocked by the US/UK on their first/second turns.  The US can also easily counter with ARM and MECH from E US, not mention planes and bombers in range.

      It might be a cool trick to try against new players though.  US gets war dec bonus at end of round 2!  Try it out!

      I was hoping that the german subs would deal with that, and hopefully all the Usa Builds would be infantry in Western USA, so the Jap planes can fly to mexico, then go directly to Capital……i’ll at least try
