I’ve tried this and it was a disaster.

Convoy question G1 Southern France
If I take Southern France on G1 but do not attack the French ships in 93, do those ships convoy disrupt in the collect income phase of G1? Thanks

RE: SBR to assist Barbarossa
I think it would be a great strat. Only problem seems to be reach. Even with an airbase in Rom or Pol., SBs can’t fly back and forth to Moscow and you can’t take any accompanying fgts. You can reach Moscow from East Pol, as you suggest, but suppose you attack on G2, you can only land planes there on G3, and use them for attack on G4. Could be too late

RE: Submarine sneak attack
In the 1 sub vs. carrier w/ planes scenario:
If the sub hits on two consecutive rounds (and the carrier misses) what happens to the planes? Can they move 4 spaces to land on the attacker’s turn? Do they have to wait for their own turn and then move 4 spaces?

RE: My Allied Strategy for UK & US
How do you defend a J2 attack? It seems with your fleet split between Hawaii and Queensland JPN could easily crush 1 of the 2 US fleets, assuming the JPNese fleet was based in the Carolines
And I might be missing something, but why leave a juicy target of 3 bombers undefended on Wake, Guam or Johnston? JPN would probably risk a lot to destroy those, if in range (in my experience, they usually are, with aircraft)

RE: How to play Japan!?
I prioritize my TT builds over mainland builds on J1 and J2. Usually build 3 TT J1 and 4 TT on J2. With those TTs you can take 2 of the DEI on J2 and take Philippines. Plus you have follow up to take the other 2 DEI on J3 AND threaten to take Malaya, Hawaii or Sydney (and, if you build a Hainan NB on J3, India) on J4 with you 4 new TTs. No need to build land units because there is enough stuff on JPN / Korea / Manchuria to load the TTs with.
Meanwhile I can hold out on the mainland by taking a few territories J1 (incl Yunnan), take out Kwangtung on J2 and for the rest be defensive. On J3 I then buy 2 ICs (kwangtung and one other place north of that, forgot the name) and start up production there. The rest of the game is buy stuff on the mainland, build new ICs (FIC, Malaya) and buy cheap naval units to block the progress of the ANZAC and US fleets in every possible way. And when they get to greedy or to far from home, kill them off with planes and a few DDs.

RE: Japanese Strategy with Alpha 3
I attacked Amur with JPN this weekend to test the new rule. Interesting side effect was that it was hard for the Russian infs to block the progress of my troops because I could now also go through Mongolia, maybe clearing 1 or 2 converted Mongolian inf in the process, and thus circumvent the Russian infs, block them from both sides so that they were forced to attack me.
I think the new rule might actually be in JPNs favour

RE: Japanese Strategy with Alpha 3
Okay, I didn’t think you would commit your entire northern JPNese force to the Russian cause… As a “solid Russian player”, I would be very pleased with myself having diverted a large chunk of your attacking units for 4-6 rounds by using my delaying tactics
Also, I would use the Mongolian forces to take Manchuria, Chinese territories and perhaps more, as those will have been left empty by your attacking force -
RE: Japanese Strategy with Alpha 3
How do you “take the Russians out” on G1? No solid Russian player will stack his inf in Amur. Now with the new rules, if you take Amur you gain only 1 IPC, but still have to deal with 24 inf spread out in Buryatia, Sakha, Siberia, Mongolia etc. Those infs can walk into China, Jehol, Manchuria now that the borders are open. I think attacking Russia G1 is a mistake.

RE: Alpha +3 = UK1 Factory in EGY breaks the game?
true i guess, but that argumentation is kinda the same as saying that getting 8 victory cities deals with the Egyptian IC, because if the game is over, they cant use the complex anymore
and i’ve invaded Turkey once and it was a disaster.
