    • RE: Have you ever pissing your opponent off with BB

      Hi you all

It seems like I have to explane my idea.

Russia and Germany are often figthing between ukraine, caucasus, Karelia, west russia etc.

If you have a equal battle where russia have a lot of converted fighters (4-8) and perhaps have received one or two supply with perhaps 3 full trannie i will explain the scenario.

UK have 3 trannies and us perhaps 4 or 5 waiting for joint strike to come. Germany has to hold back troop to counter if joint forces strike.
By firing 2 BB one Uk and one US with marine you should hit 1,87 units per turn which will cause the Germans to hold back units to be ready for countering the joint strike. From western Europe to war agianst the russians is between 3 and 4 spaces and thereby you are slowing down the axis to advance from west. Thereby the russians have an easier battle agains germany. And then if the Germans choose to cover west or eastern territories adjecent to Berlin You strike with the Joint strike the weakest spot either western Europe or Eastern Europe.
Thats my point - if you feel its stupid fair enough but when i play agains my crew it seems like a good solution

      kind regards Niels

how did the sub end it ???
If your boats is between england and denmark you have ether norway or western europe to fire at - and the sub is just to be taking out by some airplanes if you place it in sz5
I dont get it - could you please explane

      kind regards

    • RE: The Art of Defense

allies win by defending well and axis win by attacking well - just my opinion
I dont find it hard to defense - the tricky point is to make the right attacks.
i dont think sz5 is strong like bunny and the only chance off keping some defense power is to buy a carrier but it seems like a waste off money
The only right thing to do is play with LHTR NA that gives Germany an alternate attacking force with fighters and armor - otherwise it gets pretty boring and most veteran players can play defense with one strong area and areas that almost isnt covered (often it can be an advantage by making a area total clear - example western europe when the allies declare joint strike or if uk/US have a solid stack ready to go

and by the way you cant win by defensing without attacking and i really think that is the interesting part of the game

    • Have you ever pissing your opponent off with BB

A funny one i often use

If you have a massive fleet near Englang with allies - use your Battleships every round by attacking a space with one infantry am.assault and fire the battleships.
If you play with NA us will hit avr. 1 pr round and Uk 5/6 pr round
Additional Battleships is more fun and combinet bombardment with some destroyers is perfect. The russians use to like that Germany has to hold units back for covering the western front

It may sound like a lot of work to set it up but often in my games the sceenario is often realised (mayby because i prefer KG but of course it can be used on Japs to but i think it is a waste off time eliminating their fleet

      kind regards
      Niels

    • RE: I dont understand you guys

I must say that the pact of steel is the perfect game for my crew and I

I guess we haved played about 20 times and i am sure that luck is reduced to win the game
It is a great thing that South Africa is increased to 3 ipc and if you use NA britain could buy a IC in round 1 and then have IC in Britain , India and South africa. The War in africa between Italy and Britain is perfectly balanced and Britain has to balance its IPC between the three areas. US has a greater fleet that means it can split to fight in both pacific ocean and atlantic ocean. In most of our games we have mayor wars between Bri/US vs. Ger in northern europe, Ger vs. rus in eastern europe, Bri/US in Africa - both fronts from west and south against italy, Bri/US vs. japan in india and china(now 3 zones), US vs. Japan Naval battle in the pacific ocean with british support.
In almost every game all these battles are mayor important battles and therefore 5 mayo important battles. Not just like revised where you mostly have 3-4 mayor important battles.
The result is a perfectly balancd game that mayby is 50% longer but much more fun because you cant point the winner early like in revised where you almost guarentiet can point the winner out in 4th or 5th round.
Some of our games run for 10-15 rounfs before you can see who are winning the game.
      Just my opinion

you can say that it is a long game - sure! but lot more fun if you like to win a tactical win with less luck involved.

In triple A you can find pictures of markers to print and buy a color and paint pieces from the old A&A to make italian pieces sacrifice 2 destroyers and a few artillery (mayby from D-day) to italian pieces also.

It took me about 3 hours to print the map(60x100), painting pieces, creating markers and write a setup chart.

      kind regards
      Niels

    • I dont understand you guys

I have been in the forum fore about a month and i don’t understand why the mayority in here playes revised without NA.
The interest for “pact of steel” that is perfectly balanced is almost none (using NA from LHTR - Italy have same NA as Germany)

If you have the option to play with NA that make the game even more strategic i really cant see why the interest is low. Even the Triple A do not support NA
I also think it makes the game more historical correct. After reading alot of post it seems like you guys are very interesting in the right pieces - and so on…

      kindly regards Niels

    • RE: Rocket

      from wizards faq

I don’t understand the limitations on rocket attacks. Please clarify.
An AA gun can fire one rocket attack per turn.
Only one AA gun can fire rockets out of a territory, no matter how many AA guns are in that territory.
An industrial complex can be hit only once per player turn, no matter how many enemy AA guns are within range. Under the right circumstances, however, an IC in Germany could be hit by a rocket once in the Soviet player’s turn and again in the British player’s turn.
The maximum range of a rocket attack is three spaces.

      notify this

    • RE: Global War(Free Map) + Rules

I have a good idea to make big maps.
Copy the image into publisher and in settings choose overlapping and you will get a pretty fine result.
Finally laminate it with the transperant material you cover around books.
