      Typical IL. Caught in a lie, and then he changes the subject.

      cool story bro  :roll:

      Typical Vonfartpants1914. Caught in a lie, and then he changes the subject.

      Why can’t the moderators just stop the arguing?  Can’t we all just get along?

      Anyway, I a about to play AA WW1 for the 1st time on July 13th which I am happy to say is my 40th B-day (not to be confused with D-day).  Which errata should I use (and/or any rules modifications)?

      So when playing Global I can simply use the Pacific and Europe set ups?  Thanks for responding btw.

    • What is the current set up and rules for Global 1940?

      It has been a while since I have played and I can’t seem to find the new set up.  Is Alpha 3.0, 3.9, 3,9+.  Can somebody please post the link in this thread so I don’t drive myself crazy looking for it.   😮

      Also, is this going to be the set up in Global 1940 second edition or is it altogether a new game?  Also, if there are separate rules/set ups for Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940, please post the links in this thread.

      Thanks in advance.  😄

    • RE: Does an A+3 Sealion = Axis victory?

      @Stalingradski:

      Omega - it’s nice to read a post that isn’t complaining, but thinking of the new possibilities!

      We all have to reserve judgement, and think of the long-term effects of the new rules changes. And play, and learn, and then complain…  🙂

      Well said!

    • RE: Transport clarification

      I am with you Commdr Jennifer.  Though I have never met a female axis and allies player in my life you make alot of sense in the posts that I have read.  I wish I could get my wife to participate.  She would rather play the radio.

    • RE: Sealion Stats- Cliff Notes

      @Gargantua:

      I’ve improved my German/Italian strategy to the point that if the US doesn’t committ anything to Europe, the allies will lose - and lose bad.

      Even if Japan is wiped off the board by US8, which, isn’t likely to happen.  Without intervention of somekind by the US, into the mediterranean or otherwise, the Axis will win in Europe - nye guarunteed.

      This can be compounded with a micro Japanese campaign against the Russians in the east - eroding the red income.

      Try it on the Europe board.  Take the U.S. right out of the game.  The Allies don’t stand a chance.  Thats also considering Germany gets 2 less IPC’s from the Paris capture, and the reds give a full committment against germany, with no troop draws to japan, and no chance of income erosion in the east.

      All theories of a 100% American committment to Japan are hereby debunked.

      And just think of the Japanese counter options, if you know the yanks are coming, and you only have to play a delay game…

      Have you tried that strategy I posted about a month ago?  If so did you make any modifications?

    • RE: New Carriers - For Better or For Worse?

      @Graunie:

      The USS Lexington took two torpedo hits and 3 bombs during the Battle of the Coral Sea and continued flight operations until the battle was over.  Some explosions later sunk it, but that’s pretty impressive.  That was before they started putting torpedo hulls on the carriers.

      The USS Yorktown dodged 8 torpedos in that battle.  Got all busted up with bombs and scrambled back for the defense of Midway after a few days worth of repairs.

      If they were so easy to kill why didn’t they just kill them before they did so much damage to the Japanese fleet?  When the reality is every ship and plane is pretty much focused on taking out said carriers.

      They are two hit pieces for sure.

      Amen.

      I also like Gargantua’s idea of having both carrier types available to purchase.  You could consider one an escourt carrier and the other the main battle carrier.  I am guessing Imperious Leader can tell us what their abreviations should be (CV, CVE, ABCD, etc.).

      what about grey/green?  Many of the uniforms of the era had that colouration.
