Why wouldn’t the other sub be eligibile for Surprise Attack too?

    • RE: Italian and Russian colors, this is a big mistake

Paint the base of the infantry yellow or white and add a dot of that same color to the other units to differentiate.

    • RE: The Map is fine, but…

Absolutely unnecessary, I certainly agree. But nevertheless……

The map is very nice, but I am one of those players who really like to have things just so and this

expansion to the map certainly accommodates what I wanted.

    • The Map is fine, but…

Boy, I’ll tell you I laid out the map and started setting it all up on this beautiful big map and then I tried to fit the 1941’s USA units into Western USA and Central and found it was too darn small! Way too small  imho.

I don’t want to gripe about this, but man when you have Alaska as big as Australia and all the distortions built into this map to accommodate play, you’d think that the West Coast would be much larger than it is.

So i immediately scanned the West Coast of the USA and Mexico, amazing what you can do in this day and age, and about an hour later after a couple of adjustments I have a brand new West Coast (and Mexico) big enuff to handle all the units that can be/would be placed or built there for this amazing game!  And it looks fine, like it should have originally!!

Trust me there is more than enuff ocean to accommodate the extension of the continental shelf and the beaches of California to enlarge it to an adequate size for the many expected units now!!  :-D

      Krieg:

Don’t now if you saw p15 of the rules about planes must leave any moving carrier

      Is than not a change?

Has the way that planes travel with carriers changed?

Can planes stay on a non attacking carrier when that carrier moves?

EDIT: Looks like to me it now appears that planes must leave the carrier before any carrier movement. p15
                                    Isn’t that indeed different?

But if there is no destroyer, isn’t there still an Opening Fire phase?

Also, isn’t the no air attack w/o a destroyer the same?

    • RE: Call me crazy…

Or maybe a set of cards, which allow some divergence from the rules as you suggested.
These cards could be in a set for each country or perhaps only one set of cards for all the countries to really heighten the uncertainty of which advantage remains for my particular country.

      Disrupt one territorial/seazone movement?
      Disrupt building at one factory.
Paratroopers may drop one territory behind the lines.
A submarine may surface on any one SZ at the beginning of your turn.

Yeah this is crazy stuff, but what is cool is that AAA is so amenable to house rules for your gaming group.

I have acquired some Xeno expansions and the colors are such that I could easily add Spain, Turkey, Swiss and Vichy France to the mix and devise a bidding system or invasion penalties so that Neutrals are included in AAA.

Ultimately, a 1939 scenario is what I’d really enjoy.

      Call me crazy too!    :-D

    • Concise list of Changed Rules?

OK, which AA50 Rules were actually changed?

And by change, I mean that the rule as it existed in AAR was definitely changed in AA50.

So which rules have been changed? Not new rules, but changed.

    • RE: Paratroopers

      I don’t get this rule:

      on p12: Breakthrough Chart

“3. Paratroopers……The Bomber may still attack during the Conduct
Combat phase, but it cannot make a strategic bombing run in a turn that
      it transports an infantry unit….”

So this rule is telling us that the Bomber may transport an infantry unit, only during the combat movement phase, and then it may still do a normal attack i.e.bomb after it throws out it’s paratroopers?

In other words: it may still attack/bomb as normal after it’s paratroopers jump, but it may not attack as a strategic bomber after it’s paratroopers jump.

      Is that right?

Also, since the rule uses the words “your bombers can act as a transport,” may the bombers deliver it’s cargo of infantry to friendly territory instead of dropping them as paratroopers? Japan can reinforce islands with infantry by air instead of by sea???

      Frederick, Maryland !!!

      Picked it up today.

      Very nice.  Count your pieces!

Missing a Soviet infantry and a Japanese bomber.

      Got an extra Italian infantry.

      WOW !!!  Factor!!!

Looks like AA50 will coexist on the store shelves with AA Revised, because it is advertised on the box along with the other AA versions.
