  Hello everyone! My name is Jamie Cyr. I’ve been playing Axis and Allies since the late 1990s and LOVE everything about the franchise.

  With the help of a close personal friend of mine, a U.S. Army veteran, I’ve created and submitted for approval in these forums a World War 3 version based on the works of Mr. Larry Harris and Renegade gaming studios. I hope that the player base and the creators enjoy this idea as much as my friend and I have enjoyed developing and play testing it.

  For those of you looking for some 1914 or WW1 action come this winter, we’re hosting our 2nd Kings & Kaisers tournament January 16, 17 and 18th. Hoffman Estates, Illinois at the Holiday Inn Express.

  Kings & Kaisers does what BBR did for G40 but for the original A&A 1914 game. It has a round limit, is driven by victory points, and has a competitive community. K&K is featured on Combat Miniatures and its a great game!

  @vodot Thanks its definitely a process…

  I was actually looking back at some of my first drafts originally for instance here was Japan (don’t have file anymore but scanned from a printout).

  I had lots of boxes to contain the information, and realized things like margins on the outside edge were to small and the spaces for the roundels to sit on the sheet were too small, some of the font sizes were definitely on the small size.

  So I corrected and it looked more like this (Germany scanned from printout)

  But finally I switch from portrait to landscape and dropped almost all the boxes to bring out the background art and not have it contained to that small political situation box.

  @Hansolo88 Anyway to give one last anecdotal addendum if you’re still out there, I busted out my own copy of the game yesterday and gave it a run. I haven’t touched the game in about a year so I’m pretty rusty, but I still remembered the basic strategies + all the rules enough to play at least a mid-level game.

  I do agree that USSR is the much easier side to play, as they won. However, the game was a decent enough toss up that I felt it could have gone in Germany’s favor if I hadn’t botched some key decisions (mostly, I failed to heed my own advice and had Germany trying to break into all 3 city entrances instead of just focusing on 1-2 in-force. This left Pitomnik underdefended, which let the Soviets surround the city early (I had captured all but two territories in the city, those being the two factories). Once Germany was cut-off, they quickly burned through their supply crates and stalled out afterwards, letting the Uranus forces walk into the city and clean things up.

  I’ll play more and hope I can get a better grasp on Germany in case others come asking for advice later.

  UPDATE: In a second playthrough, I was able to win a total (although it took until about turn 12 to close the game out because some Soviets kept running around in the RP territories making me play whack-a-mole). I would generally recommend the following:

  All Optional Rules - OFF (basically all of them benefit the Soviets IMO). Have Germany focus on the northern flank of the city to rush towards the Tank/Artillery factories. If those can be shut-off quickly (turn 4/5/6) it shuts down USSR’s ability to effectively fight in the city. To that end, in the initial stages of the game, use Germany’s air to target the northern ferry and/or any stragglers you can find in that portion of the board. If USSR isn’t building Artillery on the river, you may also want to make a point of killing the one they start with to reduce their AA odds long-term.

  Howdy, you get what you put into it, the figure cards reminds me of the minis, in the old Buck Rogers in the 25th. Century Game.
  You can always House Rule the game, to one’s delight. I plan to RoundRobin it, in the near future(another post, another day).
  I already gotten some minis from my old die casts Triacs and Vrocs sets.
  Adding to the game fighter bombers, hover copters, VTOL Fighters that operate from the Cruisers, Recon. Jeeps, and, a “Sour Grapes” land missile carrier.
  You can order the Bucket of Modern Air and Sea Forces, where you can pick up some nice nuke attack submarines.
  Also APCs and Hover tanks, from Fortress America and transports from A&Allies Games.
  Supplements of Forces will add more spice to your gaming, it work wonders for the old Buck Rodgers game.
  My RoundRobin will only use the original units of eight, that came with the game.
  After all Zvezda used the Command and Colors system quite nicely for some of their games.
  G.I. Joe powered by Axis and Allies rules will go quite nicely, give it time.
  Who knows what the future brings, Lord of the Rings Battle of the Five Armies powered by Axis and Allies would be interesting, thanks, Pellulo

  @Krieghund Thank you for the swift reply. I don’t think that thought crossed my opponent’s mind (we usually play Global, so the idea of attacking Germany…and leaving oneself open to counterattack…is not on the radar).

  Zombies is a different game.

  Hello, my name is Adrian and I re opened my Axis and Allies Europe 1940 game box more than 10 years after I got it as a present. While playing it nowadays with my wife and tried to learn the best I could all the rules, I got in a sort of loophole while I captured London with Germany. So, according to the rules (as I understand them), I got all 29 IPC’s of England, as it didn’t get the chance to spend them, it’s turn being after Germany’s. All good and well until England (played by my wife) re-captured London and at the end of its turn collected 29 IPC’S. But it didn’t get the chance to purchase any units on its next turn, as when Germany’s turn came around, you guessed it- I re-re-captured London. So here we didn’t know anymore if:
  1- did Germany get again England’s IPC’S for the second time?
  2- can this get repeated in a loop with England at a huge disadvantage being after Germany, and thus when it comes around for its “buying reinforcements” turn, they can buy nothing, because Germany captured London, but then England recaptures London, collects income just for Germany to steal the very next turn?

  I hope I was clear and you understand the sequence I was trying to explain, if not, I will try to simplify it in a layer post.

  Thanks for whoever will be replying and clarifying this loophole for me and thanks for making this forum. I completely love this game!

  You never control a sea zone.
  Sea zones are either friendly (contain no enemy surface warship) or hostile (contain enemy surface warship(s)).
  The result of a sea battle is that you have cleared it of enemy units (or not).

  @Mn-guy Yes, other units can participate in the sea battle. Other than being a prelude to an amphibious assault, it is just like any other sea battle. The rules on page 15 mention only battleships and transports because they are the only units that can participate in the land battle.

  As a side note, attacking air units must, of course, be assigned to either the sea or the land battle, as indicated by where they end their combat movement. They cannot participate in both, even if the amphibious assault is against an island.

  For Surface Fleets, the Joes have an Admiral with an Aircraft Carrier. Probably non-nuclear and many more ships to form a Flotilla(3-20 ships).

  As for Cobra, maybe they have a “Silent Partner”. Like the U.S.S.R.? Giving them a secret like base/some or all of the ships, in the Soviet Far East.

  No use of Subs., especially the nuclear ones, would you trust Cobra with a nuclear powered sub.? Much less an aircraft carrier, where could Cobra get one?

  Finally the Land Armor Personal Carriers type of unit. Even with the missiles they carry, unless they attack a docked Cruiser. They cannot probably fly hundreds of miles theses Missiles, over water to attack a Cruiser or another surface ships.

  Are the Arctic armies mobile armies,?, hard to have your infantry walking around the ice fields. If for example two Snow Cats carrying 4-5 troopers. You would need thousands of theses units, to carry the mobile armies. As many would just carry extra supplies, fuel and foodstuffs, for extended patrols.

  So is the Snow Cat/WOLF represent say twenty of them or so for each plastic unit. Oh well it may be solved some day.

  What are people’s thoughts on the Maginot? Did it perform as intended?

  I think it did. It was meant to be such a scary defense line that the Germans would never dream of attacking it and force them to go through the low countries, where the main French army would meet them.

  But, I do think that it was too high an investment in resources compared to the results, even though it did work. They could have achieved the same result with far less commitment of resources.

  I already k ow the rules to 1940 Global and have played several games but I need help navigating the UI of Table Top Simulator.
