      @chuck1809:

      Really Garg? Yes I have 4 posts total (now 5). Big deal. I would probably crush you beyond belief in any game you name. Ever play Europa? 1000 pages of rules? I didn’t think so. I’ve been playing wargames since 1970’s. So don’t run your useless mouth.

      Now, all I’m saying is that it is very difficult for a person to play a game where someone else is always telling him/her what to do. We often have 5 or 6 players and it is a whole different story. Many of these strats discussed here would not work in a group. Thats because people have different personalities and different thoughts on how to do this.

      As you have porbably ONLY played with your PC your whole life Garg, you would not know that would you?

      U MAD BRO???

      @El:

      In all seriousness, the names are useful when you’re typing up a strategy post and need short references like NG. Ukraine Opening will do just as fine, if it sticks (but still less cool than Norwegian Gambit).

      Clarity > Coolness.

      Although just CHECK out my new profile image and saying.  Yeah.

      How about instead of TURBO TANK DASH,
      we call a German response to a failed triple;

      Rapid Attack Plan Epsilon
      Or “RAPE” for short. :-D

      Wow, this is some deep stuff. :-o

      But for me, if you boil it down to losing the fig or the bb, I’d lose the bb every time.

      Those two fighters are probly the most valuable pieces of plastic in Russia’s arsenal.

      They can strike anywhere and everywhere on the front, never in harms way, and when Moscow burns, they help defend it till the bitter end. :cry:

    • RE: R1 Indian Factory

      @Col.Stauffenberg:

      What are they taking it on round 1 with? You can destroy their trans for free. You can attack French indo with favorable odds. Russia can send some tanks there, even a plane. I wouldn’t recomend it though. India is a lost cause but if you guys aren’t seasoned veterans, try it. It can confound less experienced players, especially with a US china factory and naval builds.

      Thats why I asked, becuase our group is fairly inexperienced, and our japan player is starting to get cocky :-D.

      I would just love to run a KJF on him, show him some love :lol:

    • RE: Russia Round One–How to justify anything but inf?

      I would agree that inf should be your primary purchase as Russia, especially during the early rounds.

      As long as you keep your tanks and planes out of harms way, I wouldn’t see anything wrong with pure inf as your R1 buy.

      After R1 it depends on the situation at hand, keeping in mind the faster Germany falls the less risk of japan kicking in your back door.

    • RE: R1 Indian Factory

      Yea we have done that with two Russian tanks in R2, killing the one inf that’s usually left of the jap force.

      Again, however, this usually gets killed as well, even with three newly built tanks from Britain.

      In our game, these moves left the japs with only 1 fighter :-), plus inf loses.

      So I guess that means we probly should have built a US factory in Asia.

      Also, should the AC stay around india to stop a Battleship bombard?
      Or is it of more value elsewhere?

    • R1 Indian Factory

      So I’ve come here to ask what you guys think of the British buying a factory in India on their first turn.
      It seems like a good deal, but it always seems to fail for us because of a massive Japan counter in R1 with most of their airforce.

      Of course this is very wasteful, losing like 80% of their airforce just to take the factory.  :?

      So I wonder if it is worth it for the british to place it there in the first place and having it taken before they get a chance to use it.

      So my question is, if the japs throw everything they have at India and take it, greatly weakening themselves it the process,
      would you go full KJF by buying a pac fleet and a factory in Asia as the US in R1?

    • RE: AA42 Questions & Answers

      @LMD:

      No.  I think you mean West Russia.  All combat moves happen simultaneously, and you cannot go back to the “Combat Movement” phase after the “Conduct Combat” phase.  In other words, since you cannot attack Russia at the beginning of the Combat Movement phase (at least from WR), then you cannot attack Russia in that round at all. Thus, after Germany’s Combat Movement/Conduct Combat moves in WR, Germany could reinforce WR, and then be at Russia’s doorstep at the beginning of the next round, but could not start a new Combat movement into Russia on the same turn.

      I did mean West Russia, my bad.

      Thx for clearing that up.

      So to clarify, all combat movement must be done before any combat is carried out?

      If so then the rule makes sense, because the way my group was incorrectly playing was that you moved, conducted that combat, then moved, conducted that combat and so on.

      Thanks in advance for helping me out, as I was the only one in my group who had the attention span to actually read the rules. :)

      If I’m Germany and attack a Russian held East Russia with just inf and art, would it be legal to move tanks through this newly conquered territory to attack Moscow?
