    • RE: Can UK deploy in sz3?

      Ok, thanks.

I know it may seem a stupid question, but it’s just very difficult to see on our game board. Perhaps there’s some kind of printing error on it, 'cause it’s like it’s only the edge of the corner that touches the most northern point of Scotland?

    • Can UK deploy in sz3?

      Simple question:

Is sz3 next to UK? Say I buy an aircraft carrier, can I put it there at the end of my turn? I know it’s a dumb question, but our game board is quite unclear about it, and even though I’m quite sure that it does, my damned (I’m losing a game right now) opponent wants proof…

      thnx

    • Spring 42 or december 5., 1941?

      Another stupid nerdy question:

It seems that “Spring 1942” is a bit off… Should be december 1941? The germans are standing on the doorstep of Moscow, but the russians are ready for counter, the japanese are just about to attack Pearl, and the germans are just about to make the final assault on Egypt. The US have not yet invaded French Morroco… Why should it be 1942 and not late 1941?

    • Who's the safe bet?

This has probably been subject of discussion before, but I want to give it another go; Who’s your power of choice? Not the most fun or exciting or challenging power to be, but the most succesful or “safe”? If you had to play for money, would you prefer to be axis or allies? If it was a matter of fun or excitement, (and luckily it usually is) I’d play axis anytime. But it seems allies have a lot better chance of winning usually? I’d say it’s about 70/30 allied favour? … What do you think? Maybe Hobbes and Bunnies will reply also - they seem to have played a few games, maybe they have some statistics they’d like to share?

      Thanks in advance…

    • RE: Med Battleship G1

I didn’t mean that you should completely give up Africa. Germany should almost always try to conquer Africa with the g1 attack on Egypt. My point was that Germany should be very careful about what they spend their money on - and I believe that a battleship in the Mediterranean is just overcommitting. You’ll have to suck up a good deal of IPCs in Africa to balance the expenses on a BB.

      And:

“The German fleet isn’t dedicated to Africa”

In my games that is what happens… I’m not a very experienced player, so perhaps you can help me, but usually my G-fleet becomes isolated in the Med leaving it useless for attacks and a sitting duck just waiting to be blown away by the UK/US.

    • RE: Med Battleship G1

“Plus, you have to take into account the amount of ICs the US and/or UK has to spend to counter this extra battleship.  The Battleship ends up paying for itself.”

I’m not sure I agree with you on that one. I find that the german navy often goes from being a threat (and therefore cost/effective) to being outnumbered and outcornered in just a few rounds. In that sense german battleship build round one is quite expensive and quickly becomes of no value.

In my games (unless UK and US went KJF-kamikaze) the german navy will typically flee into the mediterranean in round two. And if you spend too much ipc to avoid this, you’ll maybe conquer Africa - but on the expense of Eastern Europe, Norway and eventually Berlin…?

    • RE: TripleA lobby down?

It’s the same for me. So perhaps there’s something wrong with both of us.

    • RE: Opening J1 and puchases

It seems to me that it’s quite essential for Japan to take China in J1 to eliminate US figther. In most cases, that will secure Jap transports placed in J1 in the seazone between Manchuria and Japan (dont have the map, so dont know the sz number), cause neither RUS, BRIT or US have anything sea or airborne in range (supposing Japan have dealt with cruiser or whatever in sz59).

It will save some IPCs if Japan doesn’t have to protect transport buys in J1…

Like to hear suggestions on what to do in J1 - in my oppinion Japan is the most difficult power to play because there’s just so many battles to consider.

    • Triple A with Spring 1942 rules?

      Hey

I’m sorry if this has already been answered somewhere else, but is it possible to download a triple a game with spring 1942 rules?

And another Q: Sometimes people in this forum suggests a “forum game” - how does this work? Can you play a&a online somewhere?

Sorry about my lack of technical skill and knowledge  - and thanks in advance!
