    • RE: New to Axis and Allies Global – What do I need to get started?

      Just bought the two 1940 games, and I definitely recommend buying the boxed games. It’s just a whole different feeling; opening up the boxes, setting up the pieces, etc. Really makes you more immersed in it.

    • RE: 7 player global game

      @Young:

      I play a lot of 6 player games and a few 7 player games, for us the best thing to do is divide the UK Pacific and Europe into 2 separate nations. This might be difficult if you don’t have custom pieces for France because you will need the French blue for the new UK Pacific nation. This system speeds up the game significantly, as 2 players can be doing their turns at the same time. Russia moves the far east units first, and then both Germany and Japan do their turns together. after Germany and the Soviet Union are finished, the UK Europe nation can start even if Japan, USA, and China are not finished. After UK Europe’s turn, Italy starts and the UK Pacific can go at the same time…. and than finally ANZAC and France… than repeat. you can use almost anything to sub as French units, all you need is enough for the starting setup as new units won’t be spawning any time soon.

      As for a 7 player game under this system…

      Player 1: Germany
      Player 2: Japan
      Player 3: Italy
      Player 4: Soviet Union
      Player 5: United States
      Player 6: UK Europe / France
      Player 7: UK Pacific / ANZAC / China

      Interesting idea. I’ll try this out.

      Can’t seem to bring it up… If you email me the picture at cliffsidebunker@outlook. com I will post it here for you.

      Just emailed it to you, thanks!

      I got your file, but unfortunately it’s too large for attachments here, it seems though that some are viewing it no problem.

      Weird, some people here seem to be able to see it, while others can’t. I sent a .jpeg file to you under the 1.5 mb forum limit, so it should work this time. Thanks!

      Strange…, I’m getting the “file to large” error message for that one too.

      Oh well, thanks for trying! Not sure what’s going on with all these image issues.

      But like some have said in this thread, what’s important is that I’m really having fun, and I’m learning a lot. It might just be preferable I live the game to the fullest by being fully immersed in it, instead of taking in feedback from a lot of experienced players and not be totally responsible of my moves.

      @calvinhobbesliker:

      You definitely need to take the money islands…that’s 20 IPC’s that you’re missing out on, while ANZAC makes 22 and India makes 18…

      Depending on what UK does next, I’m taking 3 of them on J4. Sumatra on J5. I’m considering a Malaya amphibious assault on J4 also if UK takes his planes or infantry units away on UK3.

    • First A&A global game, turn 3; thoughts on how I'm doing so far?

      So I picked Japan thinking I knew how to play it. But my previous experience with Axis and Allies (the first version) was 15 years ago, as a kid. From reading a few threads on the forum I think I made some mistakes. I did a J3 declaration of war. Consensus here seems to be J2, even J1.

      I’ve made a collage of the pacific map and included the link in this post (can’t post the image directly here since my post count is too low)

      China just played, so it’s UK’s turn.

      How does it look? I think I can take Calcutta on J7. Not sure if Russia is going to attack. Also not sure if the United States plan to take the Caroline Islands, or move up to threaten Japan and force my fleet to retreat.
