RE: Number of victory cities?
there is always “that guy” who insists on playing when the game has cleary passed.

RE: U.K. Pieces Different Colors?
i bought rev2 froma gaming store. no JPN pieces included. made in CHN.

RE: Revised vs 2nd ed
octo , i don’t blame anyone/anything when i lose.
the axis and allies are both “geared up” for revised. the axis are much better equiped in the new game. GER is disgustingly strong!
We never played w/bids. I would take it, if presented. We use a random draw to decide who is who.

i am with switch. better to hold those ARM for mobile defense.

RE: Number of victory cities?
you should be able to size up the board and realize you have lost. once your chance has passed you are painfully “rolling out.”

RE: Revised vs 2nd ed
i played a game today on the board and lost because of dice. 15 dice a two or less and not one hit! but there where plenty of of “iffy” battles i won because of dice.

RE: Number of victory cities?
once the initiative has clearly passed someone will buckle. At that point, admit you have lost/won, shake and hands and make plans for a future game.
the victory cities, i think are a lack of play testing by the creators.

RE: Russian strategy, offensive tactics
Urkaine on R2 can probaly be taken with limited forces. If the GER makes a play in that area.

RE: What's the consensus on a standard bid?
Octo, No bid? I agree. in revised the axis player has a much better chance than orginal. we have never played with a bid in reivsed. a good axis player should not need a typical 9 $ raise.

RE: Revised vs 2nd ed
bad rolls even out good ones. it’s part of the game.luck and chance play a part in real conflict. sometimes the dice are hot and sometimes they are cool.

RE: Russian strategy, offensive tactics
Switch,
I agree Belorussia should be taken, it forces the GER player to consolidate/retreat. RUS opening has to be very limited and very lucky.

RE: Number of victory cities?
we have always played until someone concedes defeat. there is no point putting a player through the agony of “rolling it out”

RE: Did you play A&A before you played A&A Revised?
Europe for the GER player, was the most boring time experience ever! You prayed for the pizza to arrive.

RE: USSR Strategies
it is hard to slow JPN in the intial rounds. they are the axis “ace in the hole”. I would not sack 2 RUS tanks.

RE: Germany Strategy concept…
Switch,
classic or revised, general strategy/misconception of the fundamentals is displayed. Most of the games are played well beyond the chance of either side winning. Conceding defeat is easily recognizable by an experienced player.
I’ll see you soon.
