    • RE: How many rounds does the average game last?

Some games can be soooooo long, well, i mean SOOOOOOOOOO LONNNNNNNNNNNG but it worth the shot 'cuz this game is SOOOOOOOO HOOOT …

The game can be long or short, if you’re playin’ against newbies :

      • In term of rounds the game can last 5-10 rounds
      • In term of time, newbies can make it last more than 6 hours… many more

And against vets player, the game is in deed long (round) but so much fun to play…

That’s the trick, find buddies than played before, or you’ll find the game SOOOOOOOOOO LLLLLOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGG!

    • RE: Little doubt about the rules, can you help me?

No, a fighter on the land zone (ie. Western Europe) is considered on the land and not on the SZ aside (Atlantic)…

So, he cannot defend if your fleet is under attack.

Anyone correct me if i’m wrong, but, i dont think so.

Well, I didnt tought that anyone would live a situation like mine =)

Anyone else who got a war hero ?

(Sidenote, just 'cuz my “travelling” INFANTRY was “a hero” I placed a marker (JAP) under it for one turn, it was is reward =) )

    • RE: US attacking Germany

      TO : BigBlocky

Well, i damn like your strategy, wich help those poor russian defend vs japs on asia…

One thing, hope that Germany will not bomber those transports…
unless you put one unit (trans ie) on the SZ ascendant to Western Europe, wich will be killed… this surely works well…

I will try it next time I’ll play.

    • RE: Do you think Germany should go for Brazil or Not ?

Well, the logic is that if Germany have enough time to loose to go for Brazil, It should go for India and help Japan, or Germans should send down a transport ot Australia, or that German transport should try to float all across the map to return to Germany as a long time traveller and hero (even if he didn’t conquered, he made all the map…)

Of course, this is prety impossible…

On this idea, we were playing a game that last long enough (A&A long… nah! =) ) that my transport in Solomons Islands (send down from Japan in the middle of the game) had one infantry that almost did it all the way across the map, stopped (wich is normal) just after Panama (the interessting thing is that he was dropped in Australia, New Zeland, India, Iraq, Africa, Germany (to support ?!), Gibraltar, Panama and then was killed by a US Bomber, on the other side of the Panama.

Well, that is maybe the longest course a simple infantry as done, he ended in Panama 'cuz the transport was killed, and then , my Jap hero was kicked off the map by US… so sad for my hero…

Did anyone ever tried to accomplish this ? (i dont think so but…)

And you will all ask, why ?? why send to "hell a trans and one infantry, i dont have the answer, just for fun!

    • US attacking Germany

      I tried this once.

I was playing US and , instead of going VS japan, i created a sufficent fleet to keep the Japs off kicking my ass, and sent all of my units (w/ transport on Western Europe to keep the Russia alive, creating a new front… what do you think about that… is that a good thing?

    • Placing new naval units

I and my friends were debating on the following subject :

ie. The US has killed all of the Japs fleet in Japan. After the combat, all remaining US units are still on the Japan.
Next turn, Japan decide to build a new fleet (1 Sub, 1 Transport, 1 BattleShip…) , and their only IC is in Japan…

      What does happend???

Do the Jap fleet (at the end of Japan, when he places units) enter in a combat with the US fleet ? and if so, who is the attacker ??

Thanx to everybody who will clear this point!

    • Killer game start by UK

I’ve played for the first time A&A 1 month ago, and since ,we’ve been playing 2-3 times a week (on game board), we are recruiting new player each week… Whatever (this intro was simply to state that I’m not a vet, thats why i play VS newbies (I, and the guy who gots the game, are the best in the gang…)

      I had a killer game w/ UK , but how ???

First turn, i did something i could not do VS people who TRULY knows how to play , made my IC on South Africa, sent backups from India.
2 Inf /turn on South Africa (with proper USA help, i managed to keep Africa with no trouble)
I took my Australians off to kick the Japaneese in East Indies (to keep my back eventually on Japs coast), reinforced India

Then I built my India IC (3 tanks/turn)

Next, I just blew up Japs on the Asia coast (w/ lucky dices AND the incompetance of the Japs! =) )

Afterward, i made 46 IPC / turn (and more… and more)

This is something i will maybe never do again (people are getting better and better -so i do!), but, to everyone who sees the UK as a poor guy, i did something I’m proud… dont bash me please, sure you did something more impressive than me…

Whatever, that was just a killing game by UK

    • RE: Techs???

Well, you should give it a guess once… but not in the opening, exept from USA where your money is a hell lot easier to get than Russia… poor Russia… squeezed up between Germany & Japan…

But fun to play sometimes against newbies! They think that Japan target is USA… they will learn one day!

    • RE: Techs???

USSR roll for tech is useful (but a risky way to spend your money on something else than infantry at the beginning) ONLY for Industrial Tech, think about it , Infantry at 2 I.P.C., the best defence VS Germs…

    • Suez Canal

Once, I saw a roule (dunno if it was house or official) that said that land units (tanks, infantry) can pass freely from one side to the other of the Suez canal, i dont know if it was really a rule or just an hallucination but if it does, does this favor Allies a little bit (defence on africa by IC in India) ?

      Thanks… its my first post!
