@tchenao yea 3 should be all you need. Can keep reinforcing Army Group North from W Germany and get to Norway or threaten that late sea lion if all goes well.

IF you liik at the picture Yunnan is firmly in japan control.

Not building 3 transports in this case might be a bit less optimal,

On J2 he can still do the attack you suggest as all fleet and transports are in range of that target there is verry little difference in this setup with a regular J1 opening.
Having 2 less destroyers at the front in favor of defending newly build transports is actually and improvement. If you have only destroyer there the US can kill you round 1.

But everything the axis does depends on dice, and its not the getting diced thing either. 2 hits in phili isnt that far fetched. 1 hit in kwatung, 2 in yunnan, 1 in hunnan is all pretty reasonable.
