RE: Painting pieces vid - start to finish-
I love that you touch your pinky to your other hand. I do the same when painting and it’s the best way to stay steady. Keep up the great work!

RE: Bonding AA pieces?
I’m not 100% sure, but based on the softness and flexibility, I believe they’re made out of polyethylene (LDPE or HDPE). A notoriously difficult material to glue to. (Same plastic super glue bottles are made out of)
Scotch Weld DP 8010 works with polyethylene, but it’s expensive.
Superglues, gorilla glue and pvc glue, won’t work that well.
For a more mechanical hold, you could try roughing the surface with sandpaper.
Good Luck! :-)

RE: Nation- (and City-) Specific Victory City Markers
Ossel, These look great! I think Tokyo is perfect. To me the most important thing is whether or not it improves game play and removes confusion. If I saw that piece, I’d instantly know which city it represents.
I can’t say the same thing for Honolulu. I kinda like having each city represented by the most iconic building over a landscape, but I can see why you went with this as there really aren’t a lot of iconic structures.
Overall the amount of work you’re putting in is awesome. Looking forward to the full set!!

These are shap-ways ing up nicely. :-P
I agree that the hi res plastic is great for detail and smoothness, but these are modeled in a way that I think getting one in something like steel wouldn’t be too bad. (even if it is 3x the cost of plastic) Plus they’d have a nice heft to them which always gives parts a quality feel.

RE: Nation- (and City-) Specific Victory City Markers
Very nice!
I’m going to take a guess and say you’re using SolidWorks?
What’s the diameter of the base? Might be worth making it slightly larger and putting the name of the city down in a semicircle around the base? If you do just the 7 primary cities originally listed it’s probably not needed, but the other buildings might start to look similar to each other. Just a thought.
Otherwise looks great. Can’t wait to see the rest!

RE: Nation- (and City-) Specific Victory City Markers
I was considering doing something very similar with my anniversary edition. I decided on the landmarks I wanted (very similar to both your lists) but never had the time to actually CAD the models and get them cast. Depending on the level of detail, some of the buildings could take a while to model out.
Ossel, if you’re willing to put the time in I would love to get some nice city markers. Even if you can’t get someplace like HBG to make them for you, you could always get them printed from Shapeways. shapeways.com Put them up for sale and maybe even make a small profit. I know i’d buy a set.
Anyway, here’s my list:

USA - Honolulu - Aloha Tower (alt-Iolani Palace)

RE: Painted playing pieces
Adding the national symbol to all those bases sure is time consuming, but it does help out in quickly knowing who’s forces are who’s. It would almost be easier to cut the base off, paint them and glue them back together.

RE: "Tall Paul's" U.S. Army/U.S.Army Air Force units, painted by WARMACHINE Team
Those tanks are some of the best AA pieces I’ve ever seen! I really like the extra details added and especially like the matt finish.
