    • RE: 7.62/ 30-6 vs. 5.56x45

The 5,56 is better for many reasons, first of which is ammo capacity. A soldier can carry many more rounds of 5.56 ammo than he can 7.62.

Secondly, the 5.56 is more likely to kill some one due to the fact that it tumbles when it enters the body, making the wound much more gruesome.

Hmm, the Cold War and the build up of thousands of nuclear weapons doesn’t sound like a positive effect to me.

Mussolini didn’t mess hitler up that much

So tieing down very usefull infantry and panzer divisions wasn’t that big of a deal? Hitler should have stopped all communication with Mussolini after Italy’s big “victory” in Ethopia.

It still amazes me how a Italian force of over 500,000 men could not manage to capture the British held Africa against a force a fraction of their own.

If Hitler hadn’t invaded the Balkans, then the Danube nations (Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria) would probably not have allied themselves with Germany, causing Germany to be short of “cannon fodder”. Greece is a different story, the Italians invaded first without even telling Hitler. The Greek put up a strong fight and held up the Italians until, once again, Hitler came to the rescue of his Italian counterpart.

Anyways, the most devasting event of the Nazi regime? Hmmm….How about invading Poland.

    • RE: Operation Barbarossa

Right MR. Hitler fought the war on his strategic map. Where he saw a strong fully equipped division, there was actually a force 1/4 of its usual size, underequipped and underarmed.

The Panzer Lehr Divison, one of the most elite german divisions, after 50 days of fighting in Normandy, was reduced to 2,200men and 45 servicable tanks, it was ordered to hold a 3 mile stretch of land. It did not hold for long, but of course to Hitler it was a full strength division so he ordered a counter attack which destroyed pretty much what ever was left of the division.

Just an example of Hitlers blind ignorance.

    • RE: Who will have 250 posts first?

Sherman28- Not unless we combine into ZHUKMAN28!!! 8) Then we would have a total of something like 580 posts.

P.S. I would have use Sherkov instead of Zhukman but say the first one real quick. :D

There are a couple of topics already like this but oh well,

Of course his decision to invade russia wasn’t smart, Germany lost, and if you lose, you obviously messed up somewhere.

First of all, I don’t mean any offence so take it easy.
Secondly, I could put anyone in that example, but I choose you because we were talking about you. OK? :D

I really don’t think people will remember you for your post count, only if you post some interesting stuff or put in some good input now and then. Wouldn’t you rather have someone say “Hey that MuthaRussia dude knows his stuff” or “Jesus, not another MuthatRussia poll!”
