Some of the notable pre-2020 moments include the long Play-by-Forum league games that ran for months with detailed turn write-ups and custom battle maps, the heated debates over convoy rules and national objectives when Global 1940 was released (with extensive clarifications from Krieghund), and the fan-made maps and setups in the Customization forum that later influenced popular scenarios still played today.

Instead of posting every time Renegade needs play testers, let’s use this topic to update whenever a new game is being play tested and to help find new recruits.
This is the link for Renegade’s play test program:
https://renegadegamestudios.com/renegade-playtestersFollow the instructions and you’ll application will be evaluated. Keep in mind, it can be a bit of a time commitment to do this.

Thanks for sharing this, Dave! I know this post is from last year, but I just came across it and thought it was really helpful. I’ve been interested in getting involved in playtesting Renegade games, and it’s great to have a central place to find the latest opportunities. Appreciate you keeping the community updated on this.
Hi @Ross,
I know this post is from 2021, but I’ve been in a similar situation trying to find Axis & Allies Global 1940 players while in Italy. It can be tricky coordinating games across regions.
I came across this helpful overview of travel in Italy that might interest others planning meetups, https://gowithguide.com/blog/tourism-in-italy-statistics-2024-your-quick-travel-guide-to-the-beautiful-country-5775 .
Hope you eventually found a good group!

Has anyone ever considered designing a 3d printable battle box replacement? I’m thinking that may be a good solution that would be much more durable than the cardboard version. I’ve never designed anything for printing so not sure how difficult it would be.
That actually sounds like a really interesting idea. I can see how a 3D printed version could hold up much better than cardboard, especially if you play often. I haven’t done any 3D printing myself, but I imagine designing it with compartments for all the pieces could be a bit tricky. Would love to see what kind of designs people come up with!
Glad you enjoyed it. The first game can be a lot with all the mechanics. Did you jump straight into the full rules, and how did the balance play out in your match?
Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense about the pre-releases, good reminder to keep both versions side by side if possible. It’s helpful to know that the forum posting feature has been stable in the pre-release for a while.

Classic advice! Nothing says safety like a day of drinking and fireworks 😂 Stay safe out there! Fireworks are definitely a hot topic with the Holidays—Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year—coming up. I’ll be in France for Christmas and New Year, and I’ve heard New Year’s celebrations there are amazing with fireworks. Found this tourism statistics interesting too, https://gowithguide.com/blog/tourism-in-france-statistics-2023-all-you-need-to-know-5275. So excited!

Cool, glad you got some clarity on the rules!
Wow! I’d love it, but I suddenly don’t have a budget for it.
