Hi,
The original version of this game gave me much pleasure as a kid, and it was with much pleasure that I am now introducing it to my own son, but I’m having serious difficulty with understanding some of the rules! Hopefully I can get some guidance here.
-
Can units from multiple zones be attack one single enemy zone in the same turn? eg Can Russia attack Western Russia using forces from Russia, Karelia and Caucasus at once? Or can any one zone be attacked by units from one other zone only in one turn?
-
When an attacker decides to withdraw because the combat isn’t going well, they must withdraw to the same zone they attacked from?
-
Loading on to a transport consumes the unit’s non-combat move for the turn right? But the transport can make its move, and the following turn the units unload for the amphibious attack?
-
Is withdrawal from an amphibious attack allowed?
-
AAA (except against air units) and transports are completely defenseless on their own? eg a sea zone with nothing but transports when attacked are automatically destroyed? Even by a single attacking unit, eg a destroyer?
-
Flying across a sea zone with a named island counts as 2 movements? What about when taking off from an aircraft carrier?
-
Withdrawal from a sea battle is also back to where the forces came from?
-
Transports and submarines can exist on the same sea zone as enemy naval units? These are the only instances when they can exist in the same zone?
-
Industrial bombing, are fighters in the industrial zone, or any zone the bomber flies over considered to be defending?
Are AAA units actively defending? or only the Industrial zone’s AA defenses are active? -
Any damage to the Industrial complex is based on a fresh die roll (?) (in the event the bomber survives AAA and rolls 4 or lower) which does what exactly? Reduces the income of that country until it’s repaired, and the number of units that can be deployed there?
-
Can some naval units be used to destroy defending enemy naval units and turn the amphibious assault sea zone friendly, and cruisers / battleships that were held in reserve can move in in that same turn for land bombardment, and then transports move in nd unload their units?
And many more that will come up in time, so any and all help is appreciated.
