I had to do some weird editing.
It seems the game has allowed me to make an illegal attack with a fighter to Malaya. I have therefore edited back Malaya to UK, returned the troops that were there and have moved my guys who took to Malaya to Sumatra instead (getting out of the transport). Sorry about this, not sure how it allowed fighter to attack, I guess something that has to do with carriers moving around, but there were not enough of them.
