One of the reasons it’s not recommended to send any German planes into territories with AA on the first turn…
Ignore that comment, I was looking at the wrong battle.
That was a rough go vs. the French fleet, but I wouldn’t call that game-ending. If the game is weighted towards the Axis, you can afford a loss or two in the battles that don’t matter so much. Killing the French isn’t too big a priority since Italy can just do it, and aside from acting as blockers those ships can’t do much beyond being annoying.
