    OOL is always manual … however most players don’t ask for OOL for every ground battle.

    Most of the time players just give max defense for OOL in ground combat. If your opponent assumes a ground battle OOL and you have survivors, then you have the right to swap the OOL retroactively. Mostly that’s for expediency. When aa guns and/or retreats are involved then ground OOL is more likely to be requested.

    And also, naturally, you can’t give your opponent anything less than best defense value for their OOL without asking.

    Some players will also give their opponent a heads up if they think they may want an unorthodox OOL in a particular SZ or territory.


  • That seems like a good approach for a more effective game play. I was a bit worried for how many posts a battle othervise would generate if every casulty should trigger an consultance with the other player.

    And now to another interface question. I’m trying to stick to the guide provided by Zhukov44 but I’m still running into some problems.
    When I’m opening the file that you generated and I select the PBEM option in the game menu I get to this menu and the play bottom is shaded out and a password seems to be needed. If I tried to write something like 1234 the play bottom becomes clickable but the “test post” says bad password.
    Has you created a password for the game that I missed?
