I had played this out locally, but I was lazy in my moves in the real game:

a) the sub that attacked the DD in SZ56 should have come from Carolines SZ34. That would allow the sub in SZ36 to go to SZ38. Edited.
b) I needed 4 CVs in SZ24. (3 from SZ34 and 1 from Philippines) . I only moved 3. I was lazy and moved all ships to SZ7 from Philippines. Edited
c) I need 2 more ftrs in SZ24. This caused a shuffle…2 ftrs from Caroline Islands -> SZ24
1 ftr moves from Szechwan to SZ20 vice 37. 1 tac moves from Carolines to Japan vice SZ37
So end up with 2ftrs + tac in Japan vice 3 ftrs.
