Nice. I’m currently working a TripleA version of this.

4 questions:
What’s Italy’s starting IPCs? You never actually wrote it. You list 2 different unit counts for the Soviets on Archanagel. Which is correct? Is the German navy supposed to be that weak? Did you playtest the original and find it was too imbalanced toward the Axis (hence this vereion)?

When I battled against Andrew and Farmboy in past years, I only was able to win with audacious gambles and copious amounts of dice luck including invincible bombers. They both are quite a bit better than me, and I have a feeling that the dice lords will smile on them this year after some previous bad luck.

@AndrewAAGamer This behind the curtain stuff is really interesting to read, thanks for typing out your thoughts. My friends and I who play together appreciate how much care was put into this game, and I completely agree that it is the most balanced A&A game.

One other interesting thing about North Africa is that since units have different abilities like targeted attack (as well as the supply cost of each round of rolling and the ability of defenders to retreat), there is no battle calculator available (yet). While I use a calculator frequently on every other version, I’ve enjoyed not knowing my exact % win on large battles as it adds another layer of tension to the game. It adds some unpredictability for both sides to deal with, which I find to be very fun.

I think a good idea for 1914 would be to require at least 1 infantry to be stationed in every territory by the end of a power’s turn (the infantry must be from the power controlling. If they don’t, they won’t get the IPCs from this territory. Not only does it potentially make the game more historically accurate (to symbolize the need to keep civilian populations under control during wartime), but it probably also makes the game more balanced, as the Allies will probably be more burdened with this (since they have substantially larger colonial possessions).
