@vodot My pleasure! Thanks for asking.

Unit mix is very similar to the standard ww2v3 game; I didn’t want people to feel the units were unfamiliar. The only changes are that naval units are now cheaper, there is an option to build a minor factory called a ‘barracks’, and there are a few 2-hit bunkers starting on the map at setup. You can’t build any new bunkers.

Here is the map; it’s less exciting than Vodot’s gorgeous artwork, but it should be functional enough for online games. You can see that I’ve added Free France as a playable power (in light blue), and that there are new territories in the Med and the south Pacific. If anyone cares to make a skin or if there’s anything I can do to help with that, I’d love to hear about it.

And, finally, the reworked national objectives. These are easier to keep track of than you might think, both because the game automatically scores them for you, and because the oil derricks and Flying Tiger drop-off zones are marked with symbols on the map.

Hey guys! I am a newer axis and allies player and I mainly play axis and allies global 1940.

I don’t like the way AAA guns work in the rules as I feel like for 5 IPC there is no incentive to purchase more of them than what you start with. Which is surprising because of how strong air units are.

The way I play, AAA units participate in battle like every other unit. There is no limit to how many can shoot during a round of combat (so if you had 4 AAA guns and the enemy had only 1 plane you would still roll for all 4). The AAA guns can still be taken as casualties and only work on defense and only hit on a roll of a 1. Any hit by an AAA gun must be taken as a plane casualty by the attacker.

This makes AAA guns more fun in my opinion and gives more incentive to use them as counters to super strong aircraft.

Any thoughts? I haven’t had any issues playing this way but I am still new. I would love some feedback!

@AndrewAAGamer On I1 it is a good idea to take at least 1 UK territory,usually for me somewhere in east africa but maybe cyprus or malta,to deny UK their 5ipc bonus for retaining all their original territories.As well it might be benificial to let germany take SFrance G1.It gives italy a landing spot for fighters and germany has the option of building ships in the med starting G2.
