General Discussion Guidelines

I. General Rules

1. All normal forum rules apply, in addition to anything listed here.

2. The General Discussion (and Other Games) forum is for topics that are not Axis and Allies related.

3. Fewer threads are better than many threads. If a thread is active and related to a particular topic, please do not create another thread on the same topic.

4. Try to stay on topic. If a thread about a giant crab is started and the topic of the historical changes in earth's gravity comes up in the dialogue, create another thread for discussion on earth's gravity.

5. Yanny reserves the right to add any rules to this set at his discretion.

6. Any punitive matters will be handled at Yanny's discretion.

II. Moderators

1. Moderators always maintain a neutral stance in decisions of moderation. If you think that the moderators are ganging up on you, you are probably wrong, but send a private message to Yanny with any complaints.

2. A Moderator's decision is final. No ifs, ands, or buts. If you have a problem with a decision by a moderator, again send a private message to Yanny.

3. The "Report to moderator" button is the quickest way to get a moderator to a topic. Use it liberally. Emails are immediately sent to each moderator with the complaint. When in doubt, report it.

4. Respect the moderators. They are very hardworking people who do their jobs for no reward other than the gratification of helping people.

III. Political Debate

1. Unfortunately due to the hostile nature of Political Debate it is as a rule is not acceptable in the forums. This also includes debates about religion. It will be at the discretion of the moderators to make a decision as to whether a post/thread is moving in the direction of political debate and act accordingly. If you feel a thread it political in nature feel free to report it to the Moderators.

IV. Conflict

1. A flame is considered a blatant and ill-intentioned attack on a fellow forum member for a particular post or viewpoint posted by that forum member. Whether a comment is a flame or not is up to the discretion of the moderators.

2. Baiting is a comment intended to draw a fellow forum member into making a flame. Whether a comment is baiting will be up to the discretion of the moderators.

3. If somebody makes an Ad Hominum or Flame post against you, do not respond to it. A response to a flame or baiting only makes the problem worse. Use the "Report to moderator" button instead.

V. Photos

1. Photos should be limited to game related photos and WWII related photos. Anything else is not appropriate for this forum.
