@leemorrison You’re being polite. Yes I got my bomber and some air shot down during the first two turns but I overextended very badly with Japan, mostly because I underestimated the value the tanks would give you in terms of exploiting openings in my positions.

THE MAP
-
So….to clarify for those watching…Amon Sul only plays TripleA, and I prefer TripleA. But it’s too much trouble (imho) to roll the dicey here and use edit on the maps, so we are playing with the PBEM function on and using TripleAWarClub dice. The results of the dicey are emailed to our email addresses. So all we have to do is execute our moves, copy/paste the summaries/results, and upload the files. This way, the Game History tells us what is going on.
This style of PBEM play is cheat proof, because to change anything you would have to use edit (which would be clear from the Game History). Even if there was a way to change up the map without using edit, any change would be apparent by comparing the changed map to a previous map. So playing this way, there’s no need to check an opponent’s map for accuracy–just another way TripleA saves time. Nor do you have to worry about an opponent making an illegal move; because the program wouldn’t allow it.

I can’t tell if the “post-turn summary” is working or not…did it work for you Amon Sul? If so that saves us the effort of copy/pasting…

That’s awesome; the post-turn summary worked perfectly. So no copy/paste or file attachment required.
Only combat was Bst, after 2 rounds I retreated to Bel–we each lost 4 units.
What I don’t get though is how the program knows to post to this specific thread. You got any theories on that Amon Sul?
-
I haven’t used TripleA since Revised, but as I recall, when you create the PBEM game, I think you can put in the thread ID number (from the URL). That way the turns get posted to the correct thread.
It really is a neat function. :-D
-
Ok thanks I got it now. 8-)
Sweet. I thought those functions were dormant; turns out they aren’t :-D. TripleA comes in handy for play-by-forum!
We are using “post turn summary” and “post save game file”. “Post screenshot” is not on; I think it needs a hosting service to work.
