Hi there, due to work constraints TMTM is handing over the reigns of the mod to me. Although I'm sure he'll still have plenty of questions to answer as we move forward with updates  smiley

Please note that there are currently 2 modules for Global 1940 right now. This TMTM mod and the one and only G40 mod by Funcioneta which you can get from this thread http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=20043.0. If you are going to be playing A&A on this forum I recommend that you get both.

So here is Version 3.1 of the mod. It has Alpha +2 national objectives, auto-convoy disruption and for those who haven't seen it yet a brand new map with realistic textures and new colors. The sector info has been updated as have the colors for the units. This mod requires the latest version of Abattlemap 0.80+. HolKann's Abattlemap installer is the easiest way to go http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=12873.msg357193#msg357193.

A version of the map without terrain is available for those that find the textures distracting. To use the map with no terrain simply delete (or rename) the existing Map.bmp file and rename MapNoTerrain.bmp to Map.bmp.

The default setting is auto-convoy in which convoy disruption is automatically calculated for powers that are at war. The convoy damage markers can be used to indicate the damaged inflicted but do not add to convoy damage. The default map file uses the French fleet from the 5th row as well.

If you want to have convoy damage entered manually simply copy the UnitStats.txt file from the Switch To Manual subfolder and paste it into the main T40 folder. Now warships will not cause convoy damage and you must manually place convoy damage markers from the 5th row in sea-zones. These changes will still allow you to play with other people that are using the default setting, but convoy damage will not show up on your screen unless they also place convoy damage markers.

If none of that made sense just leave things as they are and convoy damage will be done automatically.

Version 3.1
- Added low-res version of the map as default.
- Added 2 inf to Switzerland.

I have reduced the size of the image file to 10 mb which reduces issues with crashing. There are hi-res versions of each map included in the folder, you can use those versions if you never had any issues.

Download HolKann's Abattlemap 8.0 Installer

If you already have Abattlemap 0.79 it's better to upgrade since HolKann's installer may write over some of the mods you're using.

Credit needs to go to Stoney and Funcioneta for all of their work on the original G40 module! This mod is based heavily on theirs and wouldn't be here unless they had done that work. And also of course to TMTM who created the original map and added all of the new Alpha +2 national objectives just to make our gaming lives easier. Check out TMTM's website here http://axisandallies.us/.

Future plans for the mod include Europe and Pacific versions of the map, and possibly automatic national objectives. Not all of the NO's can be done automatically but I'm going to take a look at how much can be automated and go from there.

For anyone interested in more advanced editing of the module, or for creating your own mod, please learn more by reading Stoney's excellent and comprehensive Abattlemap tutorial at http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=18773.0.

If you want to modify or edit the module use these files.

Extract the RAR file and in the T40 Version 3 folder is a T40.gim folder, Copy T40.gim and paste it into your Abattlemap folder.

Maxo, use 7zip.  Go to 7zip.com and download it.  It's an extracter that does .rar archives.

The file for abattlemap is .exe which is a windows extension.  I am on a macintosh.  Is there a mac version of this or am I out of luck?

Ok, I don't know what I did, but I extracted the file and then copy the file to my ABattlemap. When I opened it, all I got was a garbled screen of colors. Any idea what I did wrong?

It sounds like you may not have the latest version of Battlemap. Are you running 8.0?
