Ok, the next attacked wiped out the remaining CHinese units, so that attack won’t matter.
The only question is, what’s a fair way to deal with the defense. They rolled 3 dice and hit twice, but they should have been rolling only 2.
I’ll leave it up to you. We could roll a d3, and a 1 or 2 result would mean one less hit on me.

Ouch! That will be difficult to determine. Usually in a situation with a “missing role” only counts for the defender, since they didn’t more. If it’s the attacker that screws up, then it usually “too bad.”
But, in this case, it’s a rote move and I agree that it is a complete oversight. However, even if your bomber hit, the rule that gamerman and I worked out is that you subtract what would then be my “over roll” form the left of the dice results, and I rolled 2,2,4, so the 4 would be elliminated.
