Piano player, mostly improvisational and self-composed. Never been good at reading music, and lack the patience to learn. I’ve heard, however, that I’m one of the fastest players, and best at improvisation, a lot of people have seen, so hell, I’ll stick with my strengths :P :D. Little singing too, but not my strong suit :P. Wish I knew/want to learn bass and drums.

RE: How many people have your name?
Though 206,978 people share my first name, no one has my last name (it’s hyphenated, so that’d do it :P). I’m unique! :-P

RE: A question.
I’d say it’s a perfect example of the culture of “Acceptance,” and “Diversity” in the West. Nothing is wrong, evil, or crazy; just “Different.” And we must all accept differences.

RE: And now to piss eveyone off
What do you mean by “screwed up the country”? I think you’re dealing in highly subjective terms here, which makes any list of “Biggest Screw-Ups” rather useless.
And while I’m at it, what do you mean, Truman caused the Cold War? FDR caused the Cold War with his pandering to Stalin, and refusal to let Western forces push on into the rest of Germany and Eastern Europe at the close of the European Theater. Truman might not have helped the situation, but FDR instigated it.

RE: And now to piss eveyone off
Christmas itself may not be the exact date Christ was born, sure. But then, since that date is unknown, might as well pick some day for it; December 25th is, as far as I’m concerned, the birthday celebration of Jesus the Christ, and whether or not the Winter Solstice was there first really doesn’t bother me at all :P.

RE: Best movies ever?
Damn, I forgot Memento; that was an awesome movie, I think it’ll have to tie with The Sixth Sense for my favorite suspense.

Best movies ever?
So, what would you consider the best movies of each of the main genres (feel free to make up new genres if the ones I use below don’t encompass enough :P)? For me, I’ll say…
Drama: Donnie Darko
Comedy: The Princess Bride (in a close second would be Clue The Movie)
Action: The Matrix
Suspense: The Sixth Sense
Horror: The Ring
War: Patton (I’ll admit, I’ve hardly seen any war movies, but I think we can all agree this was a great one :D)

RE: Time Traveling
Well, given the fact that travel to the past is impossible (you’re there before you left, so you haven’t gone yet…), I’d have to be the unpleasant person here, and say the whole issue is moot :-P.

RE: Why are all the ads liberal leaning?
Not to derail the thread, but Mejing, there’s no serious controversy among historians that the figure Jesus did exist; whether he was who he said he was, etc., can be debated, but his existence is incontrovertible…

RE: A very awkward moment
That almost makes me think it’s faked, it’s so perfect. For starters, who’s fast enough with a camera to take a picture of their TV when they see something like that? :P

And cool as it sounds, there’s no way a true black hole could be created at the RHIC, as this article explains: http://www.bnl.gov/rhic/black_holes.htm

RE: Name it
Heh. Mine’s Randy. Short for Randall, but no one calls me that :P.

RE: Mmmm, ads
Like jsp4563 said, the ads are covering up the posts, making them difficult to read… any way to remedy this?

RE: An Exciting Find for Science (and Paleontologists)
I’ve never been an advocate of the young-Earth theory, and I am a Christian. Frankly, I think this could be very interesting, though I seriously doubt it will add any credence to the evolutionary theory/religion (which I also think is baloney). Honestly, what I really want to know is whether the dinosaurs were warm-blooded or not; that’s been bugging me for years :P.
Ah but the rocks that the fossils are found in are millions of years old,so we are still safe from the creation myth
Well, then how about those footprints that were found in millions-of-years-old rocks a while ago, and are quite clearly a normal human’s, not some human-ape half-breed? ;)

RE: Teacher burns flag in classroom/ Reason? To motivate students
The American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky said the federal ruling would trump the state statute.
The depressing thing about this is that they’re probably right; I can’t remember the last time a State ruling superseded a Federal ruling when they came into conflict :|.
On the other hand, I can’t remember the last time I agreed with CC on anything political, and that’s what we seem to be doing here; so who knows, maybe there’s still hope! ;) :D
