My dad’s flight into Manchester was delayed because Air Force One was just leaving there. My mom was there to see it take off, she said it was one of the coolest things she’d ever seen 8) .

RE: Animal fights, part 2
My initial thought would be giant squid, but Sperm Whales have a habit of eating those things for lunch. So my vote is for the Sperm Whale.

RE: Animal fights, part 1
I’m thinking the crocodile. They’re fast (especially in the water), vicious, and have a heck of a bite. Not to mention they’re so cool :D.

RE: My annoying lunch
That stinks royal, man.
He moves like Lurch too, have you noticed that?

RE: The debate
One thought is that Saddam honestly thought he had the WMD, and so acted like he had something to hide, leading the CIA, British Intelligence, (John Kerry ), etc., to believe he did. Somehow I doubt that the scientists who were supposed to be getting him his WMD would want to tell him “sorry, we haven’t got them yet,” especially because Saddam had a habit of torturing and killing those who disappointed him.

RE: Vice-President Debate
Maybe this is a stupid question Lizard, but exactly what evidence do you have that Bush is controlled by Cheney?

RE: Poll: Scariest thing in existence
Well, for some reason, Mick Jagger comes to mind… I swear, anyone who didn’t believe in the living dead would after seeing him. shiver

RE: Vice-President Debate
What? No poll!?? Damn you!
I don’t know why the poll didn’t appear… I put on up there!! ;)
I loved it when Gwen asked Edwards what they (he and Kerry) meant when Kerry said he would give no nation a veto over America’s military action, but would also get the UN’s approval before any action was taken, and “how that wasn’t giving the UN a veto,” and Edwards couldn’t answer, and changed the subject :D.

Vice-President Debate
My vote totally goes for Cheney (of course, like I said in the poll on the Presidential Debate, everyone is going to vote for his candidate). He raised so many great questions Edwards could not answer; it was fun to watch :D.
You know, Bush is a good debater, but I think we should have Cheney take over for him; he’s better :D.

RE: The Polls
Egad, what is wrong with you people?! Have we really sunk to this?!?! I suppose I have no choice but to cast my vote, and hope that the importance of my visit to this poll raises the general populace’s standards .

RE: The debate
I really don’t want to get into another argument about this, so I’ll reply to these comments, and not to any later ones.
What mattered? That Sadam could provide good documentation, or that he give up all his WMD?
But since he failed to provide the documentation showing he had disarmed, we were authorized, and justified, in attacking, and making sure he did.
I would prefer to have had another resolution to that little snipit.
That would send a great message to the world; “it’s ok folks, neither the UN nor us mean what we say the first time, and we’ll give you several chances after the first ultimatum. Take your time.”
We did not need to prove we meant what we said.
We didn’t invade to prove we were strong enough to do it; we invaded to force Saddam to comply with the UN resolution. Ever heard of the Munich Agreement? Giving insane dictators chance after chance is not a good strategy.
We are pullig troops out of deployments all over the world. Is that the the act of a strong nation?
That is the act of a smart nation. We don’t need to leave those troops in Europe, so why keep them there? Interesting too that Kerry not too long ago was in favor of pulling the troops out of Europe, but now that Bush is doing it, Kerry doesn’t like it. Oops; another flip-flop  .
i’m sorry - what was that 5000-odd paged document that Saddam had given up (that the US had taken and no-one had ever heard of since)?
I had understood that this was to be documentation that showed that he disarmed.I’m sorry, I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m not saying you’re making that up, but then since neither of us know what was in that document (assuming it existed) it’s pointless to bring it up.

RE: The debate
One thing Kerry kept saying during the debates, is that Bush didn’t exhaust all the diplomatic means available, and “rushed” to war. Well, we had a UN resolution saying that if Saddam didn’t show he had disarmed (and he didn’t), we were authorized to invade. Saddam was given a certain amount of time to do this, and he exceed the time limit; should we have just said “oh well, let’s issue another resolution, and maybe he’ll pay attention to this one”? No. We should have done what we did. Invade. That’s one of the things I wish Bush had brought up.

RE: The debate
Neither one did particularly good, and if there were a draw on the poll I’d vote for it. But given how Kerry constantly said “I can do better then the President,” and then failed to explain just exactly what he’d do, I’d say Bush held a slight edge. Still, there were several points Bush didn’t bring up, that I wished he had.
Of course, everyone here is going to say his candidate did better ;).

RE: Wicked strat, invincible in my experience
I think I’ve found a defense for Russia against it, though; if Russia buys eight Infantry, withdraws all his forces from his front line territories (specifically East Poland, Bessarabia, the Baltic States, and Vyborg) stacks most of his units in Belorussia and the Ukraine, makes no attacks the first turn, and builds the Infantry in Moscow, he should be able to resist quite effectively. Germany won’t be able to attack well until turn three, and by then Russia will have such a huge Infantry force he ought to be able to fight off Germany, and keep building Infantry.
I’m trying this against myself, so obviously Russia knew ahead of time what Germany was up to, which may be a requirement for my plan to work, but if the Russian player sees what’s coming, he should be able to stop it, using my strategy. Just for future reference, I’m patenting it and calling it the Russian Stonewall. :D

RE: Favorite 80's-90's rock band….
I haven’t heard too much of that era, I’m stuck in the 60s (the Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel all rock!!!) and newer stuff (Sting, Weird Al, U2, Enya, Norah Jones, Switchfoot). I love U2’s older stuff, though most of their new stuff gets on my nerves, Men At Work is one of my favorites, Gerry Rafferti rocks. You get the picture.

RE: The big question, what religion are you?
there is more proof for evolution than there ever could be for god, even if you believe in god.
You have yet to provide the slightest evidence for the existence of macro-evolution. Please do so before you begin making wild claims like the one above.

RE: Which event would most likely top off an annoying game?
I’ve found that a little flirting can extinguish most opponent’s desire for ultimate and total destruction. wink
And I used to wonder why most women are quite good at Diplomacy… :-? ;)
