RE: Accurate Miniature Equivalents for Custom Painting your 1940 E&P
Awesome job on these… like the way you went for the steamer look instead of the regular transport. The camo jobs are fantastic.

RE: German WWII Technology
I looked at the Air War on your link. That is some amazing and scary stuff.@Viracocha:
As I indicated in my earlier post on this subject, I think the war could have been extended into 1947-48 with the domination of ME262S in EARLY 1943. Germany was nowhere near producing an A-Bomb in 1945 and I doubt they would have had one by 1947-48. The U.S. and U.K. would have caught up with Germany in the production of jet fighters by then. The war could have ended earlier depending on the willingness of the U.S. to use the A-Bomb over europe. This would have saved many lives on the battlefield but cost many additional civilian lives. I would not want to have to make that decision.
Yep, I read your indication. Incidentally, I posted a link to some interesting alternative WWII history you might find interesting (I’d call it amusing but that would make the content sound funny… it’s not).

RE: AA42 Questions & Answers
Well… I imagine it has a lot to do with cost as well. My impression is that he’d be the sort to want another manual out, but it’s more folks on that decision than him. Bummer though… I started making my own manual, but I might give up on it, just doesn’t have the cool artwork or sharpness (and I lack the time…)

RE: AA42 Questions & Answers
@Yoper:
thanks
I was keen on seeing the rewritten rulebookWhat rewritten rulebook?
If you think that WotC is going to rewrite the AA42 rulebook with the FAQ information, then I think that your going to get a rude surprise. :?
Krieghund is just talking about them posting the rulebook as it is now written. No new version is coming.
If I missed something along the way, then fine, I am sorry. But I didn’t get the impression that they were going back and rewriting the rulebook. It would be nice if they did, but they haven’t shown any kind of precedence up to this point for such a move.
Yeah… I don’t think we’re getting any new (edited) rulebooks - would nice if they did though. I like it when all the info I need is in one bound and nice looking manual…

RE: German WWII Technology
Though I voted for the ME, I actually think it would have taken a combination of tech. for Germany to have had different results. They would have needed the jets early on so that they could have largely - if not totally - dominated the sky. Air superiority would be key to deliver an Atom Bomb (either that or rocketry I suppose - but it would have to be many more years advanced than what they had)), which would have also been necessary to change the outcome… and even then, I think it might have ended in an armistice of some sort, even after dropping some bombs. Really depends on the nation, Japan was crippled by it - and though dropping 2 A-bombs in the USSR or the states would have damaged many elements - morale, prod. etc., I don’t think it would have caused an immediate surrender… we’re talking much larger areas of land. Though in the USSR’s case it might be a little different, since it would depend how bad off they were when the Germans started dropping A-bombs (US having the advantage of distance in some respects). Just ME’s alone? Eh… perhaps it would have extended the war, but certainly not changed the end result. Someone else mentioned fuel and production - yeah, Germany just didn’t have the industrial might of the states which entered the war with the benefit of the world’s largest automotive industry, which simply switched to wartime production.

RE: Replacements for cardboard counters in the 1940's series
Just a suggestion: I did see someone (perhaps he visits here as well) - I think it was on BGG, for minor complexes he cut one of the sections (I believe he filled/smoothed out the cut sides) from a regular factory (so that it only had two sets of windows on top), and lowered the stacks. Looked good and filled the purpose nicely.
I often thought a tiny runway would be nice - with a little call tower, some hangers…perhaps some AA guns here and there…
I like Variable’s naval base idea.

RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
That sounds excellent! If you could wait for the weekend - I’m going to take some pics of the minis on my detailed board (42) and some portraits… Really swamped with stuff right now…

RE: IL's new KISS AA50 and AA42 House rules 1.1
Whew… a lotta stuff I need to read here… BLoCKHOUSE! BLOCKHOUSE! (I like 'em… but on a global scale - eh, I’ll check it out…)

RE: Re: Field Marshal Games Pieces Project Discussion thread
Eh eh eh… BD was making a jest, knowing it was me who painted my own minis. :-D
I currently lack the time to offer detailing services, and even then I’d be uncertain as to cost. Perhaps someday I might do a couple sets from people, possibly more reliant on a barter system/trade of some sort…

@Brain:
@Danger:
I would be in for a set for sure, I’m so tired of cobbling my pieces together from multiple games just so I can play one game.
I second that Danger Mouse. These sculpts are going to look fantastic on the board!
I third that Viracocha, and then I would like them painted by the same guy that painted yours :-D
Cheers BD :mrgreen:

RE: A&A Anniversary Dilemma - to open or not?
Gold be damned and open the box - play a game! :-D

RE: Tricked out my AA50th - pics in a bucket
Much obliged Variable. What do you think of the abstract HQ’s?
I like them alot! I’m actually trying to duplicate them myself.
Get those pics for IL so we all have a painting guide to go by.
IL, could you throw in AllWork’s pics as well. A lot of people like the Japanese stuff he just did.
Thanks!
Would like to see your finished command centers! When I was younger I tried doing an edition with the command centers in their own language - it was interesting. Somebody with more graphic savviness than me should be able to produce really cool stuff. Still haven’t had a chance to send take & send those portrait pics. This set is actually my '42 board (the ‘learner’), though photographed on AA50th (which will hopefully be populated by FMG minis - as it deserves!). The minis pics I posted have actually been done for quite some time, but I just never bothered with taking photos… so I’ll have to go back and see what decals were for what…
Will get back to you on the shopping list… sorry.

RE: It´s here! The Enlarged Gameboard for use with Revised Edition 2004
Being a fellow painter of A&A minis, I’m interested in seeing more of your painter’s work…

RE: Revised still best of A&A as strategy ?
Huh… your past post in regard to said matters was deleted? That’s strange… it strikes me as being more ‘on topic’ than many other things I read, and moreover, information to do with the actual play testing processes of A&A should be regarded as very relevant to this site.
As to the info you’re looking for… been a while since I play Revised, but - with the recent completion of my ‘learner board’ - my '42 is getting some action (though AA50th is IMO still supreme). I’ll play revised the next time and give you some ‘initial thoughts’ feedback…
