Hi!
I’m playing the old pacific1940(not the 2nd edition). What are the current rules and setup for it? I remember there being something like alpha 2.0 at some point, but it probably isn’t the newest.
The current rules and setup for Pacific 1940 (1st) are those of the 2nd Edition (as for Europe1940/Global). The “alpha-rules” years ago were steps in the development from the 1st to the 2nd edition.
Don’t those contain stuff like the anti-air units, which aren’t in the original game?
Those rules have changed from first to second edition, indeed. But you can play 2nd edition rules with the first edition units/gameboard.
Okhay thanks, where can I find the unit setups for the current version?

@CWO:
Which raises the question: who in the A&A world plays the role of Vishnu the maintainer/preserver?Â
The players?

RE: Russian Civil War
Random ideas
After revolution Finland turns into pro Germany neutral. Karelia stays as white russian territory and they can build units there.

RE: Russian Civil War
Shouldnt Kazakhstan be part of the “Greater Russia”?
I also think that the prisoners of war idea is a bit complicated for this. -
RE: Images of the Map?
Maybe the ottomans plan to expand Turkey to the east a little bit.

RE: The British Empire
I like playing the UK and to me it’s much cooler and historical if you have build troops all over the Empire. I’ve always been a fan of separate builds in India/ANZAC/Canada. If it was up to me they would all have a separate incomes that had to be built there. Fortunately as A&A has evolved Larry has moved toward this idea except for Canada. Larry almost takes us there with separate roundels and it’s own factories, but leaves it short with no separate income so in the end it’s not usually worth it to build there. Maybe one day…hahaÂ
Me too! We have sometimes had house rules for Canada and even for South africa. I think that when playing Britain you get nicve feeling that you have to use your limited resources to hold on your territories against armies that usually outnumber you two to one.

RE: Images of the Map?
I agree maybe they should have divided Sevastopol and Ukraine.

RE: More News! Russia!
Of particular interest to me:
We all know about the Russian revolution. It forced Russia out of the war. This potential revolution can also occur in our game. Already under great social and economic stress as the war begins, the conditions that can permit a Bolshevik revolution are always present. A Russian revolution, which I should point out is an optional rule, can occur at the end of any Russian turn starting in round four if Russia is losing the war. Russia will be considered to be losing the war if all of the following conditions are met:
Three or more territories adjacent to Moscow are controlled by the Central Powers.
At least one other original Russian territory is controlled by the Central Powers or contested.
Moscow is controlled by Russia or contested.
If the revolution occurs, the Imperial government is replaced with a republic. As a consequence of this, an armistice will be signed with the Central Powers, effectively removing Russia from the war, and the game. All Russian units outside of original Russian territories or Russian-controlled territories are immediately removed from the board, and Russia will no longer have a turn. I suggest that if this optional rule is used, one Allied player should control both Russia and the United States. This is the dumbest revoultion rule proposal I have ever seen.
If it’s “at the end” of Russias, turn, she’s always going to have the ablitiy to take atleast 1 of 4 territories back. 3 of them are right next to her capital.
That said, “Russia losing” was not even the case historically. They just had problems at home.
I say you put together a threshold bar, that slides towards revolution…
Maybe we should make some house rules for this?

RE: Turn six pics
I think I have just decided to buy this its just too cool. Also I think the province in north Finland should be Tornio not Torin.

RE: Why is the map so distorted?
There is another issue with the map/game, I’m a little reticent to mention it but if you read the comments on the blog, it’s there in the open.
On the National Production track, USA is listed as 15. On the map, USA controls 17 IPCs. The rules … well you guys know the rules for A&A.
