@aegiscruiser117 They mentioned it a couple years ago when 2025 was first in development. I asked Doug recently about some of their older projects, and he said didn’t mention 2025. That said, I hope it will get picked back up again, maybe after 85 comes out.

RE: GW1914 Pieces
@justluthor Sorry for pulling up an old thread, but there is now a lot more 3d printed units on HBG’s site. This includes large numbers of bombers and ships, but also fighters, tanks, and some artillery. They are all in grey, so they need to be painted.

RE: Battlecruisers
Thanks! If Battlecruisers were upgraded to their historical role, then I would definitely increase the cost. 14-15 IPPs seems to be about right. It idea is to give you the historical choice naval planners had- speed (and an extra IPP?) or armor? Of course, you can go with both in the fast battleship, but it is expensive!
I also do not have the game, but it is nice to dream :) Someday when I have the money. -
RE: 2025 Bigger version
@imperious-leader Maybe look at the above post?
Things like making India or Japan their own faction would work well. You could also have a Commonwealth and EU split. -
RE: Release of the game rules and map
@alphaaeffchen
The Map and rules should be available on HBG. They already have a page up here- https://www.historicalboardgaming.com/Global-War-1914_p_4028.html
I don’t know when it is coming out, but I expect that the rules will be up in a beta form around then. The last I heard was sometime this spring, but that might change. -
RE: KMT as a Major Power
@sjelso No, once they become a major power they are always a major power.
-
RE: Militia Purchases?
@sjelso A great example of militia use is the Current YouTube game of Operation Winter Solace. They are useful as a quick reinforcement in a threatened zone.

RE: Tech Priority Preference by Nation
@hbg-gw-enthusiast
According to the reference sheet:
TIGER 1E
(HEAVY ARMOR)
8 7 2 8 Blitz, Target selection “1-3”
(vehicle class)
I take this to mean that all Heavy Armor Germany builds is the Tiger 1E. Thus all of then have TS 1-3, which is the only difference between a Tiger and normal Heavy Armor. -
RE: What happens when the Allies declare war on Vichy?
@insanehoshi
If I remember correctly, GHG said that alignment happens immediately after combat. This allows these things to happen. Any Vichy left would align after combat is over, if not surrendered. -
RE: What happens when the Allies declare war on Vichy?
@noneshallpass I found this in the comments, looking in the video. I believe he extrapolated this to all minors.

‘I should have explained that.
The answer is no. The British reference sheets says that they would take control or align the Netherlands at the end of the combat phase on the turn they were first attacked. I had them clarify that from V-2 because some players were a bit confused by the language. This is why I stressed in the video that they should only attack them once. Here is the V-3 reference sheet for now but it will be updated soon to correct a few mistakes;

@captainnapalm
I believe it was his Dutch Pannekoek video. -
RE: What happens when the Allies declare war on Vichy?
@captainnapalm I don’t believe anything happens.

RE: Subs, Destroyers, MAP and other ships
@hbg-gw-enthusiast I would believe so. You are forcing to subs to attack you. Thus I think since you are the defender, everyone gets to fight.
-
RE: Subs, Destroyers, MAP and other ships
@hbg-gw-enthusiast No, remember, this is normal as in the subs attacking. You would place all forces, the four subs, and whatever ships or planes are in the sea zone, on the battle board and do combat. The subs could chose to submerge, but every ship or plane gets a shot.
Let’s look at a example-
Say 4 German subs moved into the English channel.
There are 3 destroyers, 1 heavy cruiser, and a light carrier with a fighter there.
The UK player chooses to stop the subs and engage in combat.
All forces are placed on the battleboard.
The German subs each chose to fight or submerge. 2 chose each.
The 2 subs fighting roll and get one hit. this is not first strike, and the UK elects to lose a destroyer.
The UK player then shots back with all his ships’ defense values and gets 3 hits.
The German player loses 3 subs- the 2 that fought, and one that was submerging.
The lone surviving sub submerges and the battle is over.I hope that makes sense.

RE: Subs, Destroyers, MAP and other ships
@hbg-gw-enthusiast Correct, No harm done! You will never fight more than one battle with one unit.
-
RE: A dumb technology question
@insanehoshi There is four stages, so you need four successes. You need one to place the roundel on the board, then one to move it to stage 2. Then you take two more to finish it.

RE: Bloodbath Rules Victory Conditions (convert to GW36?)
@sjelso Denmark is something I also wouldn’t take till later, but the Netherlands can be a pain very quickly after Japan attacks. Norway may be risky by sea, but only 2 airborne are needed if given long range air support. If done during lightning war, Norway can be rather easily and quickly conquered.

RE: Strategic Rockets (v3)
@captainnapalm
I was proposing no facility, as that limits the utility. 3 might be the best bet. I also prefer to try and tweak as little as possible, so fixing the cost seems to work well. -
RE: Diplomacy Expansion influence
@captainnapalm I think it is per nation, as nations roll independently. If you think about, the US wouldn’t be too happy with the UK influencing Brazil.

RE: HBG’s Spanish Civil War version 3.0 (Admiral)
@sjelso I would assume it can move within the battleground of Spain like other Italian units.
