I remember going to see pearl harbor with my dad. I was 7 or 8 years old and the movie scared me so much. Because of the part when the Zero fighters strafe the civilians, I was scared of a Japanese or German plane attack for like 2 months lol.

This movie looks like enemy at the gate. Looks nice. Always cool to have a movie on the eastern front. Not much of these around.

Does anyone knows where I could watch the movie Stalingrad (the German one that was release in 1993 I think)

for exemple if you have Leningrad and  Stalingrad you get 10 bonus ipc

I think Japan is OP. India and China have no chance to survive even if US go all in the pacific. Japan gets the money island way too easily. That is 15ipc + 5 NO bonus +the gains in China and Russia. In my game Japan was making 62 IPC at turn 3. India was about to fall and Germany and Italy were holding at 50 and 10 ipc

Allies surrender

Japan makes nearly 90 IPC with his NO and is still pushing into Russia and China. Even though it lost most of his fleet, it makes more then the whole pacific theater combined. India has fallen and Sydney is next.
In Europe, Germany broke through Soviet defenses. Nothing is in the way of the German Army and  the Caucasus/Stalingrad. Leningrad is secured. Italy is still alive and serves as a coastal defense force. Uk can�t handle both of them since US as to focus all resources into the Pacific. Russia his weak and makes under 25 IPC.

I played a game and Germany did OK. it has a massive air force and you don’t need to waste it on British ships because there aren’t any.
japan is really strong in this version. India makes 10 ipc per turn and has barely no units. USA must go KJF. So Germany and Italy are left alone against UK and  USSR.
Russia will get back stabbed by Japan easily.

Montgomery for sure

He won north Africa because he had more men not because he was skilled. He just mopped the depleted, over extended, out of supplies Afrika Corps.

Also Market Garden was a big fail and was a really dumb plan. It diverted/wasted a lot of resources. Plus it slowed Patton’s advance into Germany. Allies could afford loss of material but not the main thing this operation wasted.

TIME

If those resources were used for a big push into Germany by Patton’s army, the US Army would have been in Berlin before the commies.
Cold war would have been a lot different (maybe it would have never happened)

It is amazing how much resources Hitler put into the defense of the British owned Channel Islands. He demanded between 10 to 25% of all Atlantic Wall material get dedicated to these Islands.

Lucky for us, Hitler was really dumb and was a terrible commander. He crippled his air force, threw away an army (6th), wasted his Kriegsmarine,he made Normandy an allied victory.
I believe that Germany would have won if they had been a competent military mind as head of state, or even if Hitler just didn’t interfere in military decision.

Looked on all the websites of Boardgamegeek list of Canadian boardgame store and I found 1 copy for 44.95,
Ordered 3 weeks ago. They had a problem handling it and it only shipped today, will receive it friday.

Yes, it’s legit, but there are some errors in the post that need to be corrected, most notably the turn order.

So it is like alpha 1 of G42

I posted it in G40 topic but it got moved here.

I started a game
I am at turn 3 and everything seems close

German made a tactical mistake but the imperial navy task force is next to Sydney preparing for an assault.

Turn order is
Russia-Germany-Italy- UK pac & eur - Anzac - Japan - US - China - France

The board feels empty for me compared to G40
The German bulge in Russia is getting crushed on Russian turn 1 for sure

Still I see lots of interesting decisions. US have ground troops at Guadalcanal and can already strike other Japanese islands

Only problem I see is that the setup says 1 italian mech inf in Tunisia but also says 1 french inf in Tunisia
and Shan state is empty, seems kinda odd for me
