I wouldn’t want to be married to someone with a dangerous job. I can see myself worrying all the time and being victim to my overly vivid imagination.
Then again, when love strikes i’d probably curse myself and go for it anyway.

It was downhill for the allies, but China outgrew the Soviet economy, was making 24IPCs, prevented VC in the Pacific (Moscow fell next turn, forcing the Allies to surrender), but hey, how awesome is it to drop 8 guys in one turn!
Sometimes i wonder what it would give if Russia fled into China to make them huge. Never did it though…
katyusha’s

ALWAYS ask your opponent to let you out of the batlic, each game, before you are at war (It’s in the rules).
i always do that, though not even 1 time did the German agree, tsss.
Should i offer them money? ;)
Nice article, Ghost One.
One thing, the bear trap, i don’t think that will work against a hardened german player (in general i never assume an enemy will fall for a trap unless maybe it is well hidden)
Some of your advices are marginal at best (a russian bmb ? I see some very good players buying it sometimes, but there’s no way this could be considered a standard purchase)
I wouldn’t call a russian bomber marginal if you see the potential it gives. I always buy one (if Germany waits long maybe 2), and they never disappoint me. As Russia is a huge country, it is a very useful long distance punch (combined with some inf), in any direction (it can even attack Yunnan from Moscow and land in India), and if the time comes for Moscow to fall it can evacuate to Africa and still be a mean little threat here and there.
Certainly worth it for an aggressive Russian player, probably not for a defensive stacker…
I like to buy a tank and mech every turn and send them towards russia. Can open for Germany to take down Russia faster. I usually attack Russia on I3 to set up for G4. Obviously all this depends on what the German player is doing.
Indeed, if they are synced perfectly, it can be very deadly for Russia…
Woah, that must be horrible…
My condolences, and yes, keeping busy is good advice (also a good moment to see good friends & family now. i speak from experience)
(talking global, where UK can get help from India)
As an Allies player, what i worry about most from Italy are the can openers they send to the Eastern front.
Also bothersome are their attacks on Gibraltar and the Middle East (or trying to close the Suez Canal). Nothing that can be fixed but it can be annoying (and that is what i think is most of Italy’s job…)
Edit: about Morocco, Algeria, etc… as Allied player i can only hope that Italy takes those french territories, so i can take them back and make them English / American. And i will.
So, as Italy it’s best to leave those as they are.
Breaking out of the Med seems suicide as well…
@Cmdr:
I’m still up for solving this by kicks to the balls….it will solve EVERYTHING.
Works for me. ^_^
You see, this is why i always stay on the other side of the table then my opponents ;)
@majikforce: a way to deal with what your friend did is to make a checklist of every step in each round (play as well as battle), and reading it out loud, every single step.
LOL Good one! Unfortunately he is one of the few friends that will actually play this game religiously with me! And he is a pretty good player, we just get a little competitive sometimes!
Nothing wrong with being competitive but who would want to win that way?
Doesn’t sound healthy for Japan to go faraway from home (=nearly no reinforcemnets) and put a fleet in the Atlantic within range of the American shipyards (lots and lots of fresh units spawning closeby with a free IC as a reward).
Even with German support it’s never a good idea to bring the war close to the most powerful nation on the board (obviously).
Duh, forgot to select 6 INF on Buryata :/
You need some Italian can-openers to take out those lone blockers and speed things up in Russia.
Even just a tank, a mech (or 2, mainly as casualty) plus a tactical bomber can go a long way.
And so East meets West, beautiful isn’t it? ;)
Funfact edit: Christopher Hitchens (recently RIP) called North Korea the only “necrocracy” in the world, a country governed by a dead leader (Kim Il Sung)
@Vance:
China has been running north Korea for years. they are all communists.
No they’re not.
Neither as all Americans are republicans, or they all are Democrats.
But of course. No, I would. You’re not a bad person. There are bad people, but you are not a bad person.
HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW? This is the internet isn’t it? For as far as you’re concerned I could be building some kind of maniacal contraption to take over the world by force! I could ‘be’ Kim Jong Il’s son, the heavenly child.
And are you saying Harry Truman, or the pilot of the Enola Gay were evil because they dropped the bomb! Proposterous! LOL.
What about Gas attacks in WWI? Are those Evil? Charles Manson isn’t Evil?
The thing is, everyone thinks they’re on the right side.
maybe some perverted exceptions aside.
i’ve seen a few parts of some (very rare) foreign documentaries about N.Korea, and it is… surreel, absurd and painful.
Empty streets (10 lanes but no cars cuz of no fuel) and traffic police that is guiding traffic that isn’t there! Hidden poor people who eat clay and treebark to at least have something in their stomach, the brainwashing that starts in kiddieschool, senseless propaganda everywhere, all the time. Endless military parades… It’s just sad.
Whatever happens with the next Kim Jong, i’m afraid those poor people are f***ed over for generations to come.
