Does anyone use a house rule where artillery does not lend combined-arms support to an amphibious attack? Just seems irrational to me that this could be allowed.

RE: Naval questions
1. Yes, but both sides will have the option to submerge their sub before any shots are fired (as neither side has a destroyer to prevent the other from submerging), so it’s unlikely that the defender will stay to fight the lopsided battle.
2. Yes, subs from opposing sides can share a SZ.
3. Yes. Russia doesn’t get the NO if there is at least one German, Italian or Japanese sub in SZ125, even if they are not at war with the power owning the sub.
4. No. You need a surface warship. They are destroyers, cruisers, battleships, and aircraft carriers, so no subs or transports count.
5. Yes. UK shares all tech between the two economies. Also, both sides can contribute when buying tech dice. For example, UK Europe can spend 4 IPCs and UK Pacific can spend 1 IPC to purchase 1 tech die.
6. Yes. If AAA are the only unit(s) remaining on the defender’s side and the attacker still has at least one unit, they are automatically killed and the attacker conquers the territory, if applicable. Note that the attacker does not get a chance to retreat from only AAA, so you can potentially strand attacking ground units that were intending to retreat by taking all non-AAA as casualties and leaving only AAA to be auto-destroyed.
Hope this helps!
Yes it does, thanks for taking the time. Follow up question: Can a sub sneak attack another sub?

RE: Global 1942 version question
That assumption is wrong. While Germany starts the scenario controlling those territories, they are still original Russian territories, similar to how the Chinese territories controlled by Japan at the start of the games are still original Chinese territories, preventing Japan from building major ICs on anything but Korea.
Then why in the set up instructions does it say put a German control marker on the territory, as well as units? Just a unit on it should be enough. Every time you take an enemy territory do you put a control marker on it? I don’t.

Global 1942 version question
Am I wrong is assuming that Russia gets a 3 IPC bonus per territory each turn they control:
Baltic States
Belarus
Bessarabia
Eastern Poland
Smolensk
Ukraine
Western UkraineIf so, wow, Russia is very powerful in this scenario.

I know everyone hates techs but….
My son and I came up with what we think are some rational rules regarding Rockets, Super Subs, Jet Fighters and Heavy Bombers.
Rockets - 2 IPCs each
Super Subs - 10 IPCs each
Jet Fighters - 13 IPCs each
Heavy Bombers - 15 IPCs eachIf you are a HistoricalBoardGaming.com junkie like me it is pretty easy to keep track of what could be different units on the board. Just buy different pieces.

Naval questions
Maybe I’m lazy or maybe I just do not see the answers in the rules.
-
Can you have sub on sub combat with no other units present?
-
Can 2 enemy subs coexist in the same sea zone?
-
If a German sub occupies sea zone 125 is that enough to keep the Russians from their 5 IPC bonus?
-
If just an Allied transport is anywhere in the Med does that keep the Italians from their 5 IPC bonus? Not sure if a transport is considered a “warship”.
Not a Naval issue but:
-
If playing with techs and the UK gets war bonds do both UK economies roll for war bonds every turn?
-
Can planes knock out AAA if that’s all that is left? Or does it have to be a land unit that knocks it out after all enemy units have been destroyed?
Thanks guys,
Chris

Question about rockets
My poor kid loves playing with techs but rarely gets them. I rolled and got rockets in first round as UK. We are arguing about whether or not they need to be used in conjunction with bombers or can fire all by themselves. I think they can fire independently. Yes?
Also assuming airbases with full damage lose the rocket capabilities.

Paratrooper question
I understand the paratrooper rules for movement during the Combat Movement phase.
Question - can they moved in the same manner during the Non Combat Movement phase to friendly territories?
