I prefer
White (or Green) 1s
Blue 2s
Red 3s
Black 4s
Not everyone does that so I just lay it out before the game starts.
Sorry we didn’t connect the other day. I called and noone answered.

Maybe Wizards will shock me and the game will actually be awesome, like Naval Minis or the criminally underrated 1941. I’ll give it a try, of course. Just wondering about all of your thoughts on the subject.
Please vote.
My event list is:
History of the World Friday, 6pm
A&A 1941 Saturday, 8am
A&A Global 42 Tournament Rules Saturday, Noon
A&A Naval Miniatures Sunday, Noon
Ladies and Gentleman,
I’ll be hosting a game of A&A 1941 and a game of Global 42 at Con of the North outside Minneapolis this year. There will also be some A&A Naval Miniatures action on Sunday.
Dates for Con of the North are February 16th to 18th.
See website for details.
All my fellow A&A players here in Minneapolis are headed to GenCon August 18th-20th. If you guys want to get together and play some Global 40 or 42 that weekend I’m down. Be nice to meet you all.
Send me an e-mail if you want to game. robbie4boy@yahoo.com
Damn bro, 6000 posts and counting. Ever play the 1942 scenario for Global?
I guess I’m not looking for a house rule, I’m looking for a revision from Larry from the out of the box rules. At least an errata. I think it’s alot better than most other ideas.
I’ve been playing this game for a long time now and I can’t for the life of me understand why the UK income is separated by Europe/Pacific. UK/Canada makes more sense to me, or just one total UKall income like every other power. It seems to balance the game out nicely if Japan can’t do an India crush.
How would this work for 1940 2e vs. 1942? If you guys could try it and let me know I’d appreciate it. My gaming group is a bunch of old guys who fear change.
Do you put one space after the end of a sentence or two? People have been telling me that I’ve been doing it wrong for the last 25 years.
I’d be willing to make the trip to play in a G40 tournament up there. My balance idea that seems to work well so far is to combine the UK income. Don’t split the money between Europe and Pacific anymore. It seems to balance the game well. Also India is no longer a capital.
If you’re scheduling a game this year let me know and I’ll head out there.
Check the Tacoma Axis & Allies Meetup group. Otherwise I can let you know when I’m back in town. Probably January or so.
You know I went to college in Champaign, four years I never found anyone to play with. If you can find two more we could schedule something at Dragon’s Table (if it’s still there). I’d be willing to make the drive. I’m playing this Saturday in Minneapolis.
Don’t want to say ‘I told you so’…
I’d like to see a dedicated fighter unit done right in an Axis & Allies game, unlike the one in 1914. It could be a purely defensive unit that you’ld want to leave at your ICs to defend against SBRs and massed bomber attacks.
Another thing I really want to see (possibly in the next G40 edition) would be anti-tank guns. They’d be just like the modern AAA guns except only fire at tanks. They could cost the same, too. At the very least a tech that makes your AAA fire at tanks, too. 3 shots for each before the attacker fires. What do you think?
Official? It’s the one that Grasshopper posted on this forum as the Larry Harris G42. Link and all.
So I’ve been running a few different opening battles through Skelly’s odds calculator in regards to the Global '42 scenario.
Japan seems to be able to attack the India, Hawaii, and Solomon fleets on J1. The fight off India (assuming a scramble) has the worst odds at 60% success rate, but if it works you look awesome. You could also take a chance on the ANZAC cruiser at 50%.
I wonder if anyone has tried taking Alexandria on G1. It’s a very powerful move if you can pull it off.
The naval combat has a 50% chance. If you do kill the cruiser and land, that beefs the land fight to 75%. Flip a coin, anyone?
The Battleship off Scotland can be saved easily with a destroyer as the bid and a plane from Leningrad. I didn’t come up with it, I’m just saying.
Italy all depends on the UKs battles, so no point in speculation there.
How are you getting your awesome table there?
I saw the youtube video.
I never saw any adaptation of the novel, but the book was pretty awesome. Typical Philip K. Dick mind-trip.
The characters talk about reading a book called The Grasshopper Lies Heavy, which is based on real history. So we’re reading a story about people who are reading a story about us.
I live in Seattle, but nice to know if I ever fly to Germany I’ll have someone to play with over there. That’s in the South, right?
