      I do all artillery G1 & G2, then follow it up with mech until I am ready to hit moscow. Works every time, even if he withdraws the troops from Siberia.

      @rjkesq82:

      What say you all about buying a mixture of Mech Inf and Tanks since Mech Inf can get out to Eastern Front faster?

      I never tried it before, usually I buy all tanks, but I wonder how it would work out splitting between Mech INF and Tanks.

      Oh yeah, as Germany I usually will get 1 tank for every 2-3 mechs. Mechs are cheaper so you can buy more of them and if you still have most of your aircraft available, you can still have the heavy hitters with your aircraft and some tanks and have a wall of mechs for fodder.

      Cow

      You can also speed the game up drastically by starting everyone at war including the USA. Yes everyone at war.

      Did I mention my son is named Luke and daughter Leia?

      Not that I know. Thanks for the information :-). Movienames for real life people can be awkward, but Luke and Leia are definately great. Beautiful name for a girl!

      The crazy thing is I bought an IC in Persia with UK on turn 2 because I thought his Sealion was a joke or fake.

      Uuuuhhh, playing with fire, that is! And too bad its machines aren’t humming, driving the assembly lines to crank out mechanized forces. If I buy an IC in the region it is to be better equipped against a Japanese approach and/or to help Russia contesting Caucasus + Stalingrad. So UK5 or UK6 is still valid. The danger with any ICs there is of course  that Japan rids the UK of it, but that almost certainly means that the USA has an opening in the PAC (no small investment for Japan to drive the UK beyond persia).

      Never had so much fun playing Russia

      Yeah I really love to play Russia and attack Germany if it goes SL. Or see the look on his face if he can’t get into Moscow after he launched Barbarossa. Of course, my German opponent will love the look on my face if I lost Moscow after failing to persuade my UK ‘friend’ to send me some 8 Spitfires ;-).

      @rjkesq82:

      A&APlayer - that would be awesome! (PBEM) I am very interested. Thank you for such wonderful insight as well!

      After playing a few more times, we have seen Axis 3 wins Allies 3 Wins…lol…

      I think being the allies is soooooooooooo much harder simply because of execution. It’s easy to SAY what to do and KNOW what to do…but man, with 3 people all needing to work 100% in sync and not much room for error; that is easier said than done.

      That being said, I have now seen Japan play VERY good games, but because of a misplayed Germany, the axis still fall. Kinda stinks for Japan…that they can play near flawless but if Germany collapses or plays bad, it won’t even matter. Lol.

      The allies have several advantages over the axis countries, but you hit the nail on the head  . . . they have to mesh well together in order to win. And that seems to be a major hurdle for Japan. It’s very rare to see a Pacific win for the axis. I don’t know how much of it’s because the allies usually target Japan first or because there’s just a natural plateau once they get too spread out.

      Usually it’s either both axis sides are rocking early and the allies surrender in the first couple of rounds or Germany is the one that gets the win. Japan just seems to reach that point where they just can’t quite get there. Too easy for the allies to stop Japan, even if India falls. A strong Japan might not win the game, but they can do wonders for taking the heat off Germany.

      Shoot me a PM and I can help you get started on a PBEM game.
