Hey man, thanks for the well thought out post.
My tower will be reasonable size, but i also want some creative features to go with it. I will be making it out of hard wood and paint designs on it. Would super glueing the felt be a bad idea, or will that work?
This will be for 1940 global too so if anyone has some advice on some things to paint, that would be cool.
Hey everyone, didn’t know where to post this so ill put it here.
I’m going to make an axis and allies inspired dice tower.
However, i dont want this to be an ordinary dice tower. Anyone have have any elaborate ideas on making an advanced one with some features that can help in an axis and allies game?
Yes, i see why this wasn’t released to the public and only for tournaments.
I checked and i have the correct number of tank models. This sucks, I got to borrow from other games now.
Man, germany calls for 14 tank models and i have 12….
Thats what comes with the game right? I didn’t lose any peices?
Why not use these? http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/Axis-Allies-1914-WW1-Roundels_p_1435.html
They arnt decals but will they work?
Got pretty far with a game with these rules, and this has made the two powers pretty much equal.
I dont have time to write a playthrough but here is a couple things i have noted.
The westernfront is up in the air. France is on its heels the first couple turns as germany moves in. If germany has adverage rolls, france can hold out till other french and british troops move in. If france gets wiped out in picardy, the first or second turn, paris will fall. France holds, the western front becomes a stalemate and each side will have a hard time winning. As time progresses and germany still cant make a break through, it will lose ground due to the allies superior income. By this time russia will be in revolution or dead. India will probably will have fallen too depending on how many troops that briatian put there. The ottomans will also will be just setting foot into Africa.
The Italians are fielding a slightly larger army, as austria went heavy russia and suffered many casualties. When the americans come, they need to make a choice.
Italy can hold out, but will eventually lose. Germans are returning there troops from other fronts to come help but the allies can still push into germany but it will be slow.
So, either place troops in austia and try to smash to vienna(risky move), or break the western front and take berlin.
That is where we are stopping and it looks very close to me.
Some more things.
Germany will need to invest in a navy or else britain will crush them. America can move more troops to the front faster with the movement points and the central powers still wont be able to compete in the naval compartment. Britain could also pull some interesting land invasions but they are risky and probably wont go very far.
Made probably too many grammer mistakes due to me typing on my phone but oh well. Ill see how this game goes.
If the ottomans now have a route to africa, so now that they arnt fighting for their life, they can afford to support a campaign there.
Good, the western front is now going to become very desperate, and britain will have to send to troops to keep france afloat.
Also this helps the ottomans take on india I also assume this applies to africa? I wonder how that will change things.
Playing a play though right now, and see how this works out.
Hows the shipping to the US. Is it unreliable, and should i stay away. I may consider getting some dice later.
Also can land a plane on a transport if the transport is not on the coast, but still 2 movement spots away?
Plus it makes all the rest of the true neutrals turn to the other side. This basically made it unpassable.
Hmm… The problem is balance, and no nations are equal. The game isnt built to be played like that but im sure if someone could come up with a magical setup that would make it balanced.
I like those rules. Ill try them my next playthrough and see what happens. I predict people arnt going to be attacking the swiss in the first couple of turns.
But what if austria invades switzerland? Would this allow germany to focus its troops and italy will now worry about the axis contesting or taking piedmont.
Its been awhile since my last playthrough but maybe and austria takover may still cause more problems for the allies. Now they have two central powers to worry about, and germany hasnt spread their troops out. Even if germany takes switzerland, cant austria still shuck some troops in to support without hurting the russsian campaign? I need another playtest.
Im pretty sure this doesnt activate portugul but i may be wrong. However, colonies will NEVER mobilise troops.

Hi live in Ontario, Ohio.
I play mostly just axis and allies board games. I have 1914, 1940 global second editions, the revised editions, 1941, and hope to get the 42 second edition too. Would be nice to find some more experianced players in the area. Pm me if your interested in a match. It most likely wont happen due to time but you never know.

My first play threw saw an allied victory.
I honestly think that the only way the central powers can win is to get a navy that can beat back the allies. If that happens without drawing too many funds from the army like you did, the central powers are in a very good position to win. i will certainly try that strategy in my next play through. Also sounds that absorbing the neutral countries helped you for your victory. Interesting.
if you have issues with america sending troops ready to invade before their at war, why not just give them 80 ipcs when turn 4 hits to spend on units. That way troops cant land till turn 5.
