Same rules apply to Global and 1941 games?

RE: Landing in Former Soviet Territories
Quick games. Not enough pieces, though!

RE: Naval Questions
Thanks for the response.
So Even though I’m not trying to take control of the sea zone, MNF’s both get to defend that sea zone?
-
RE: Landing in Former Soviet Territories
So the Allies can still land there even though Russia is completely fallen, but the Axis still needs to take the territories to land there. Thanks.
And yes, I am enjoying it. We’ve played it twice. The last time after Global ended WAY sooner than expected!

Landing in Former Soviet Territories
Here’s the Situation: Germany has completely wiped the USSR off the board. Neither Germany or Japan occupies the Russian Pacific territories. Can either Axis or Allied planes land in those unoccupied territories?

Naval Questions
1) When placing a just-built Aircraft Carrier, can I also place fighters that I just built on it? Can I Non-combat move a fighter I already have on the new carrier when I place new units?
2) If I’m attacking boats from 2 or more countries in the same seazone (ex-UK and France in 110) but I’m not using surface warships (Just planes and subs) can I choose to only attack the ships belonging to one power?
3) If yes, would a destroyer belonging to the country I’m NOT attacking still negate my subs surprise strike capabilities?

Naval Questions
A few naval questions. I’ll also be posting similar questions on the 1941 board, because we played both games last weekend.

G1 strategies for Sealion
I know it’s been posted before, so my apologies in advance. I’m looking for buys and strategies for Germany (and Italy?) for a potential G3 or 4 Sealion. No bid strategies, please.

RE: Invading the US
@ODF:
Turn 4 Even though Japan’s attack on Turn 3 put the US on a war standing, they will still only have their pre-war income to spend on defenses.
I’m not sure about this
It is pretty obvious though. USA2 they collect 52 ipcs.
USA3 they are at war and have 52ipcs to spend, only at the end of USA3 they get the bonus.
And then germany will attack and take that money away from them.We’ve been playing (erroneously, it seems) that if U.S is at war, they get the bonus at the beginning of their round. I didn’t realize they didn’t get it until the collect income phase.
Thanks for clarifying. -

RE: Blitz into friendly territory
I don’t think so. Your movement ends with combat. If the enemy territory didn’t have any combat units, ICs, or bases you could.

RE: German Bombing Strategy
122 reads and only one response? And that was a question. Is there ANYONE that has tried Dark Skies just in the Europe game?

RE: American Strategy (Video Added)
Hi Young Grasshopper-
I don’t have a lot to say about what to put in the video, as I’ve only played Global a few times.
I just wanted to tell you that I ran across your USSR and Japan videos earlier today while on Youtube and was very impressed. Japan in particular was a revelation. Good stuff, and I hope to use in soon. Perhaps in correlation with this German Dark Skies strategy that’s been getting a lot of buzz on the boards.
Thanks again. -
RE: German Bombing Strategy
Is Europe 1940 considered to be Allies-favored or Axis-favored?
I think it depends who you ask. Heavily favors Axis at first, but when the U.S. finally declares war they have a huge amount of untouched materiel, a lot of IPC’s, and ungodly NO bonuses.
The Global thread calls for Germany to make big Strategic bomber purchases to hold off the American fleet and SBR the UK and USSR. It seems that part of that strategy is counting on the Japanese threat at the same time.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this with Europe. -
German Bombing Strategy
Anyone else been following the German bomber strategy - How to play and How to counter thread on the Global board? I wonder how well this would work in Europe only games, with the U.S. not having to deal with Japan. Any thoughts?

Alphas
In the 1940 europe and global forums I’m seeing a lot of mentions of Alpha, Alpha 2, Alpha 3.9, etc.
Are these versions before or after the 2nd editions?
Are some of these house or tournament rules? -
RE: Best spot for US to land?
@P@nther:
@ODF:
I thought you could build on Hostile or Friendly neutrals under your control, but never on “true neutrals” like Spain, Sweden, Turkey. Even after you invaded them.
Major ICs can only be built on originally controlled territories (value 3 or more). Other than that there is no rule supporting your thoughts, sorry. :-)
No need to apologize :evil: Taking true neutrals and building minor ICs sounds like fun.
