Hi guys I have been reading a lot about killing the Royal Navy with subs but I remember asking Krieghund about subs and he told me that they can only start an attack if they are in the same sea zone with an enemy ship meaning they have to prexist in the same SZ. You cannot move them from another SZ and attack afterwords. I don’t know if I understood it well. If you are reading this Krieghund please clarify, because if I am right you cannot kill the Royal navy on G1 or G2. :?

NO question
Does Germany get the 5 IPC for not being in war with Russia or on G2?

IC question
A major IC if capture becomes a minor. What happens if a minor is captured? Does it get destroyed? Thanks in advance.

IC question

RE: IC in Egypt
Sorry i didn’t answer earlier but I went to sleep and had to work because I live in Greece and we have a big hour gap. Ok I agree that some BB may have been hit by strategic bonbers but mainly when they were in naval bases. I didn’t know that with the guided torpedo, I was unaware they had that technology. Did they use it widely?
Whatever, if we agree that strategic bombers bomb BB’s shouldn’t they have an attack less than 4 because they for surely aren’t that accurate as the tactical bombers? -
RE: IC in Egypt
Were they strategic bombers or stukas you tell me.
Do you think I do not know its an unrealistic game!!!
The thing is though that the game is based on real events, a real war with the real political situations of that time. Anyway thats the way I see it. Bombers bomb from thousands of feet off the ground, tactical bombers can bomb ships, that’s how the American and Japanese fleet lost ships. If I am wrong then I apologize.
Anyway we wouldn’t play with each other I think because we have different philosophies. Thank you though for your opinion. -
RE: IC in Egypt
Thanks for the plan and the answer about the fighters is logical, but I find no logic in the bomber being able to fire upon ships. In real war strategic bombers bombed cities and facilities not ships, they fly very high up in the sky in order to aim a ship. If that is in the rules its unrealistic and I am afraid that I will not play it my game. Thank though for your quick answers and debate calvin.

The last sentence was a question I wanted to clarify.

RE: IC in Egypt
OK the subs can do damage but have roll 2 and there is a destroyer is SZ 110. The tactical bombers is a good move but what can the Bomber do does it attack fleets? I do not know this.
What about the fighters in the UK can’t the UK scramble them? -
RE: IC in Egypt
I am afraid I disagree but an opinion is an opinion. The UK has two BB and two cruisers in the area and Germany one BB and one cruiser why are you so sure about this?

RE: IC in Egypt
Why are you concerned of the sealion England has a good chance to prevent it with its battleships which are near the UK
-
RE: IC in Egypt
Yes England should and doing it on UK1 makes things very hard for the Italians

IC in Egypt
I have been reading the Global FAQ and there have been various debates abouy Russia helping the UK in Egypt and other Africa but never read about building a minor IC in Egypt. I tried it on turn one of the UK and Italy cannot mess around in Africa only if its very lucky with the dice roll.
I can make a minor in Egypt can’t I? If yes consider it as a strategy that might give advantage to the allies in Africa. If Egypt holds two rounds then the Italians are game over! -
Bombarment question
If I want to invade lets say Portugal from Spain with ground forces and I have a battleship in sea zone 91 whithout any transport for an amphibious assault, can I bombard with my battleship?
And another silly question: In a ground assault with tactical bombers and other land units do the tactical bombers fire once and land or can they fight for all the rounds we fight? -
RE: Malta question
Because i am with the impression that if there is an island that is controlled by an enemy force then that sea zone (around the island) is considered controlled by the enemy so you have to stop and have a battle. In this case make amphibious assault to take Malta before you can advance is Sz 98 at your next turn. Or can you go at the same turn since there are no units on Malta to defend and it is considered a battle that is winned.

Malta question
Forgive me for placing another question on the table but the game is getting hot. If the Italian wants to attack the british warships in sea zone 98 but he is still in Italy and Malta and Cyprus are still in British control with no units on them. Does he have to capture Malta or Cyprus first or can he pass with his warships and have a sea battle in zone 98? Thank you again in advance.
