RE: LHTR: Larry Harris Tournament Rules
In standard tournament play what determines victory? Minor, Major, or Total Victory according to VC’s, or is there another way to determine the winner?

RE: Strategy for Japan and how long does it take to drive to moscow.
to the orginial question how long does it take to drive to moscow the answer is 4660 miles or anywhere from 50 to 78 horurs depending on how fast you drive. http://www.indo.com/cgi-bin/dist/place2=moscow%2C+russia?place1=tokyo%2C+japan
but i say you should slways attack buryatia if russia moves there unless you can better use those battleships. most of the time you should attack.
That made me laugh!
But this discussion will surely help in my next game. Last night I played FTF with a friend and I wasn’t very optimal with my Japs. He built up a rediculous US Navy all game and attacked me in Japan SZ60 with 4BBs, 9Subs, 2Des, 1HBom, and 1Tran. So I was kinda forced to keep my Transports in SZ60 for both cannon fodder and using them to bridge. I left 1CV w/2Fig, 2BBs, 1Des, and 6Subs to defend my 4Trans.
I’m still a new player and am scared to take my Inf from the islands as UK or US can just take the islands freely. But my Germany was doing fine and his UK and US weren’t helping out USSR hardly so I ended up taking Moscow with Germany fairly easily, but he did shock me by winning D-Day.

RE: Game Map Needed
That’s the thing, I generally log in from work and I can’t download anything here.

RE: Unocupied territory newbie question
Any land unit can capture an unoccupied hostile territory.
The blitzing special ability of the tank allows it to capture the unoccupied territory and still be able to move 1 more space either to attack another unoccupied hostile territory, attack an occupied hostile territory, or return to a friendly territory.

Game Map Needed
I’m at work and was wondering if anyone can post a link to an image of a game map that is set up before USSR takes its first turn that is big enough that you can still read the names of the countrys and determine the different units placed on the board. Thanks.

RE: LHTR: Larry Harris Tournament Rules
I read this post and people have posted 2 or 3 differences in the tournament rules and the rules that came with the game. Any more that I should be aware of? If I play recreation with my friends FTF is there going to be huge differences than if I just taught them the tournament rules without them really knowing?
Germany taking over UK on G1… now thats scary!!

RE: Where Did You Get Your Board Game?

RE: Where Did You Get Your Board Game?
wow jsp, thanks for the link… good stuff!
i downloaded ABattlemap and its way better than what I was using. the revised map looks sweet and i can’t wait to play. since most of my games are gonna be played over the intrenet, ill probably save some money and have more fun playing you guys on here.

RE: New member need suggestions

RE: Where Did You Get Your Board Game?
I downloaded a Map program that I use for 2nd Edition but I am very curious to play Revised. Is there a map tool for it as well that I could download along with a rulebook so I could start playing Revised online? I don’t want to spend the money on the actual board if I’m never gonna play face to face. My friends say my dice rolls are too lucky, even tho I always bring more than enough pieces into battle to win… oh well.

RE: Non-Aggression treaty
did i miss something in the rulebook? or is this more of a historical thing?

RE: Violating Neutrality
Thanks for all of the examples. I guess I might have to try it every now and then. Altho I do see viable options in taking a neutral now, it doesn’t necessarily seem like it comes up every game… only when the opportunity presents itself.

Violating Neutrality
Ok, I pretty much understand the rules involved around the whole Violating Neutrality issue, but my question is, does this ever happen? Is there a country that normally is taken that helps out in the long scheme of things? 3 IPC is a bit steep since it can be used for Inf and I have never played a game where someone took over a neutral country. Any examples of someone doing this and then that move caused headaches for their opponents somewhere down the line?

RE: Where Did You Get Your Board Game?
I don’t think I could afford all of the different A&A games… I hear A&A Revised is the best tho… and now that I know I have a place to play people, I might go buy it.

Where Did You Get Your Board Game?
Where did everyone get their A&A:R game? Intrenet, local Game store? Or did you get it at all? (and just play via the intrenet maps etc.)
