Human doesn’t have to affect a lot the Earth to cause big changes. A good example is the methane that is liberated from the “pergélisol” (don’t know the english word, but it designs toudra (most superficy of Russia and Canada is composed of it). A very small raise in the temperature cause the liberation of a lot of methane, wich cause a far bigger raise in the temperature. This is how a human “small” cause can produce a huge effet.

RE: New proof that Global Warming is a myth!
I find it funny that one guy study (wich doesn’t bring new facts since we already knew sun radiations varied a lot) is the proof that global warming is a myth, but when we talked about evolution, hundred of studies from hundred scientists were worth almost nothing.

RE: Your best games as Germany?
@ncscswitch:
It is not what I “meant” to say, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID.
A 4 division follow up to a 6-8 division UK landing in Turn 2 is pretty nice force
And to add in the previous context…
That is a UK2 landing of 6-8 divisions, followed by a US2 landing of 4 divisions.
Really Jen, with this, and your other posts elsewhere, you need to spend a bit more time reading posts before you reply to them.
evolution anyone?

RE: Evolution Poll
Funny how the evolution poll “evolved” into a theological debate.
And it’s quite sad that evolution is always associated with a theological debate. It doesn’t happen when talking about Einstein’s relativity theory, Smith’s free market theory or when explaining what is the Planck’s constant. Problem is too many people think that natural selection theory is way easier to understand than the other things mentionned above. actually, it is not…

RE: Evolution Poll
I voted other: evolution, and since it’s impossible to know if there is a god or anything else in a superior reality, i prefer to not affirm anything about it.

Over time, things even out.
Amen to that! :-P

RE: Why Nine victory cities
I like the victory territories thing, but not the time limit.

RE: German rockets?
you can’t research two techs in one round

RE: German rockets?
Even spending 30, as Germany, which is theoretically 100% chance of getting it is worth it.
6 dices isn’t 100% chance of getting it. Hundred dices wouln’t be either…

RE: Amphibious Assault Question
@ncscswitch:
No.
If you amphib just 1 INF into a land battle, then ALL land units fight to the death.
that is weird. does it really add to realism or what?

RE: IC builds for G?
well… question was IC or not for germany, if yes, where? I almost never buy an IC and always rock on russia. BUT, if i would want to try something new, western IC can be fun
-
RE: IC builds for G?
Fisrt turn, germany buys an IC, a tranny and an aircraft carrier. Connect your med fleet with your baltic fleet and then add everything you bought on western europe seazone (2 fighters land on aircraft of course!).
Germany now has a very powerfull fleet (2 subs, 1 destroyer, 2 trannies, 1 aircraft + 2 fighters and a battleship). I play with NA so next turn i buy 1 or 2 subs to have the wolfpack attack and affect uk and usa economy. It radically changes the game. America and UK have to face an unusual threat. Of course Russia will rule for some rounds…

RE: Carrier question…..
from what i understood, yes it is possible to do so.

RE: Does the game need more types of units?
There was a game named “Champs d’Honneur” produced some years ago in Québec (Canada). It was similar to A&A Europe but had almos all the types of units dercribed at the begiining. Plus you couldn’t make alliances with different countyries, invad neutral ones etc etc. Very very long to learn. very very few buyers… so it’s no produced anymore.

RE: UK Naval Build in SZ 2/8
In reality, did UK had naval industries in the north? If the answer is yes, it must be allowed. If no, it shouldn’t be allowed.
-
RE: Time limit
I always think about what i’ll be buying and doing for each turn. So it piss me off to see others thinking 20 minutes before the purchase units phase and then they don’t know what to do at the combat phase.
10 minutes!

RE: Does the game need more types of units?
too complicated!!
invent a new game similar to A&A r ….

RE: Questions about italy in world war 2
To accurately portray the italians in A&A you would have to make some modifications.
Italians can’t build tanks
Italian infantry never attack, but when attacked they get the “flee” option where they roll to see if they can retreat
The med transport gets sunk every turn
The med battleship turns into a fishing boat
Italian planes fly one square, and crash at the end of every battle because they have no way to land
Italian infantry pieces are portrayed with thier hands up in the air, the command and control unit gets a white flag
For every italian infantry in combat, you need a german infantry with them to force them to fight (at gun point).
Roll a die every turn, on a 1 southern eurupe comes under allied control because the Italians surrendered.Italians were pretty much a joke in WW2, even worse than the French. The only “country” they really conqured on thier own was etheopia. Think it was Churchill who said this when they did “Italy has conqured a country that no one in the civilized world has wanted to occupy since the Roman empire”. Or something to that effect.
There was a movie with Nicholos Cage I saw that explains it pretty well. Cage plays an Italian officer in Greece during WW2. When Greece surrenders, the local government refuses to surrender to the Italians. They made sure that there was a German officer there for it to be formal. After surrendering to the German officer, the greek turns to Cage and says “I would have rathered surrendered to his dog than to you”.
   Good posting!
Italia sucked more than any other country in ww2.

RE: What do you think is the most/least realistic about A&A?
I think the worst is in everything relative to submarines. They should be stronger and more important, especially in altlantic.
