Above is precisely the situation I was confused on. However, my understanding now is that the above situation is impossible, as the carrier was damaged and the German fighters cannot land on it. My understanding is that the only time a carrier will ever have cargo is if it is another power’s plane.

RE: What about iceland?
With the Naval Base in the UK, it is just as close as Iceland in terms of getting to America. Why take a turn going out of the way?

RE: Just more questions.
If I capture a territory (say Slovakia-Hungary) can I move tanks through that space to Romania during the non-combat phase?

RE: Just more questions.
It is the start of US turn 3. Do they collect the bonus 30 IPCs right now, or will that come into effect next turn? They have 35 on hand, but does the bonus take effect immediately or do they have to wait until the next collect income phase?

RE: Just more questions.
So Italy takes Southern France on their first turn, they subtract 2 IPCs because of the French Fleet sitting off the coast?
-
RE: Just more questions.
How about SZ 99. Can the allies inflict convoy damage to Greece and the Axis would inflict convoy damage to Syria?

Just more questions.
So I capture Paris on G1, this gives me a one time boost of 17 IPCs, as well as raising me 4IPCs. France can no longer build new units. Is this the correct reading of the rules?

RE: A little confused with Carriers
Ok I see with the attacking force and allied planes.
But aren’t the fighters assumed to be in the air on defense, even though they are not directly participating in combat?

A little confused with Carriers
Can someone lay out a situation where a damaged carrier would have cargo? To me it seems that the fighters on board will defend, and then once they cannot land back on the damaged carrier. Thanks for the help.

RE: How do the Axis win?
So what is this “optimal” strategy? Are you tank rushing to Moscow with Japan, or are they knocking out UK/US IPCs in India and the Pacific? Is Italy simply building up defense in France, or are they more aggressive moving into Russia? I often try to punch holes in the Russian lines with Italy so the German can move more freely, but have not had much success.

RE: How do the Axis win?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Clearly if they are on the Axis most shift their goals to achieving them.

How do the Axis win?
Now I admit I have only played a few times, and each time an Axis victory is getting closer, but we have never seen an Axis victory. What is happening in your Axis victories? Is Japan still doing the old tank rush? What about Italy? I’m long past my prime at Axis and Allies, so it’s probable that my skills are simply lacking, but it would be great if someone could outline how they are winning. Not really looking for a turn by turn plan, just general objectives that are key to winning. Thanks.

RE: CAP
So the ftr can establish a CAP or move and fight, but not both correct?
And landing from a CAP does not impede either of these options^?
-
CAP
I have never understood this so correct me if I am wrong…
The take to the skies/seas in Phase 6
They land on your next turn in Phase 2
And then on the same turn they can move and fight in Phases 3 and 4Am I correct?

RE: Soviet Union first buy
I hate Soviet Tanks, they seem to just get destroyed in a counter attack…
I usually just stick with Inf and Rtl, a fighter if you can’t live with out, it but I found it non-essential. -
RE: Moving through the Suez Canal
This too was my reasoning, but my opponent thought different. I couldn’t find this addressed anywhere in the rule book. Are you 100% with your answer, it makes sense to me but again there is no line

Moving through the Suez Canal
Does it take one movement point for a ship to move through the canal to the different numbered SZ? There is no line so is this just considered one large sea zone?

N.O.
Are the Nation Objectives similar to the NAs of AAR and optional, or are they included in every game? Also, if they are optional, are they needed for a fair and balanced game. I was never a fan of the NAs of AAR, but these look interesting. Should I include them in my first game of AA50?
