World war 2 music and hisorical series
Hi, just want to share this nice music with all of ya.
If you like soft metal, you will like it for sure.
It’s call Sabaton, try it on youtube. Their musics is based on history and the majority of their songs is about world war 2. I like to listen to them when playing axis and allies. Very nice music
Try panzerkampf, stalingrad, rise of evil or ghost divison.
And for the series, for those who speak french, like me :-D, there is a wonderfull serie called Apocalypse. For now it’s only in french but this is by far the most exciting world war 2 serie iv’e ever seen. It’s about the world war 2 with old videos and a narrator. They are now in color…nice songs…very good…take a look if you can find your way out, some videos from the serie are available.

So, whats the best options for Japan?
Played my first game as Japan last night and i get raped. New mechanics…. I did some mistakes ( not buying industries, unchecked bombers and transports, convoys disruption forgotten…)
got some rules misunderstood ( industrial complexes with 3 or ten, thought that the territories value was the limite to place on a territory…)
I attacked round 2 but i dont know is its the best way to begin the game, i tried to take as much territories as possible to boost my income but in the end, i didnt have enough land troops in Asia to overcome U.K wich was my goal.
I want to hear your strategies if ya want, to give me an idea. I know now that somes factorys must be build on mainland.

Is there some update with the german offensive on G1, with your map Il ? Got some problems with en effective german offensive against russia. My russian oponent is always lucky as hell and give me good counter attack.

Foir myself, i simply put the otp rules and i add chinese infantry, 1 per terrritory.
It gives a litle boost to allies

Thoughts on my G1 turn?
Hi, just want to know somthing about my g1 first turn that gone terribly wrong after russian turn. I know that i did have some bad luck…when i mean bad luck…
I’ve send : 2 inf 2 art 2 tank + cruiser support on baltic states = 1 inf dead
-2 inf and 1 plane on east poland = 1 inf left
- 3 inf 1 art 3 tank in ukraine = 1inf 1 art and 3 tanks left
1 sub and 1 plane on the dd in SZ 6 = he did destroyed me evrything…
2 sub 2 planes on Sz 12 = 1 sub left for me
took egypt with evrything that can reach = 1 tank left for me, got egyptTHE FACT is, some one tell me if something is wrong in that but when the russian player played, he did counter me with sucess in baltic with : 7 inf 1 art = i killed only 2 guys. And in Ukrain with 5 inf and 1 tank = i killed 2 inf again.
So the fact is, russian killed me first turn with the odds against him…is this pure luck or i did a mistake?
Need some thoughts for the russian front first turn with germany…how to split the army…
If the russian was me…i would be afraid to attack those places

I think that the Dardanelles closed only make sens at all….i mean…if spain is neutral and we cant pass through it…Nobody should pass Turkey in this point…its the same rule but it wasnt apply for some reason. Its realistic, not a single ship pass through this in the entire War. It force Italy to focus on africa.

The following are additional optional rules that can be used in your games if all players agree.
Dardanelles Closed to Sea Movement
In order to maintain its neutrality, Turkey closed the narrow straights linking the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, permitting no naval passage by any belligerent nation on either side. No sea units may move into or out of sea zone 16, however air units may move through this sea zone freely.
Fighter Escorts and Interceptors
Fighters can participate in strategic bombing raids. Attacking fighters may escort and protect the bombers, and they can originate from any territory, range permitting. Any or all defending fighters based in a territory that is strategically bombed can participate in the defense of the industrial complex. The number of fighters that will defend is decided after the attacker’s Combat Movement phase is completed and before the Combat phase begins.
After antiaircraft fire is resolved against the attacking air units, if there are any defending fighters an air battle occurs between the attacking and defending air units. This combat is resolved in the same way as a normal combat, with a few exceptions. The fighters have an attack value of 1 and a defense value of 2, and the bombers have no attack value. In addition, the combat lasts for only one round. After the battle, any surviving bombers proceed to carry out the raid as normal.
Fighters participating as either an escort or a defender cannot participate in other battles during that turn. Defending interceptors must return to their original territory. If that territory is captured, the fighters may move one space to land in a friendly territory or on a friendly aircraft carrier. This movement occurs after all of the attacker’s combats have been resolved and before the attackers Noncombat Move phase begins. If no such landing space is available, the fighters are lost.

RE: Building Italian fleet - is there a point?
Want to hear about this……last games…The U.K navy near gibraltar…1 dd et 1 cruiser…if still alive…they attack the Italian Navy with 1 bomber and 1 plane. If they succeed…The Italian Navy cannot be rebuild. This can be very good For U.K. Did you guys saw that in one of your games?
I got some ideas but…
- Destroy with Germany those 2 boats but you cant destroy the bb and tranny near iceland
or - Take Egypt frist turn wich can save the italian navy but cannot loose chance to destroy properly the uk navy in atlantic
You guys have other ideas?..Thoughts?

RE: National Objectives vs Balance
First time i played, China was dead before i could say WTF. Since then, in 1941, i did some changes, not big ones but china can now live a little longer. I just put 1 inf in the 3 vacant territory, so China have at least 1 inf in all territory. When you play U.S.A you ask for reinforcement from Russia and China can be defended for some extra turns. China will die eventually but in games that i tried this, China lived longer and did some damage to Japan and forced Japan to put more troops against China.
Thats all, you guys have tried other things?

Old question but….if a bomber pick a run and take out a transport in a SZ…can he destroy another transport in another SZ on the same run? I said no to my teamate but i was questioning my self about that one.
Exemple a U.S.A bomber from wake destroy a jap transport in Sz 51 can he destroy the one in SZ 46 too and land in australia? The transports defenseless.

1941 longer than 1942?
Simple question, is 1941 longer than 1942?
Are the NO’s and Tech afecting the time of a game? If so, how much?
Playing tomorrow and i dont want to past the night of the game.How many VC’s to have a game of 4-5 hours? What should i play(1941-1942) and with what (NO’S or Tech or both)?

- 41 without tech and NOs = Seems more balanced but not this much if KGF
- 41 with NOs and no tech = Favor Axis if no Full KGF
- 41 with tech and no NOs = ?!?!?
-42 without tech and NOs = Balanced
-42 with NOs and no tech = Favor Allies
-42 with Tech and no NOs = Balanced?I would like to listen to people about the length of the game….how long are these options…is 41 longer than 42?
1941 = Very long? about 5 to 8 hours?
1941 = Short like revisedNO’s and Tech favour a long game?
And what about the VC’s…Is 13 a good way to play for a shorter game?

I just played once….41 with NOS…Favor the Axis but i did make several mistakes…but the NOs favoeur the Axis this is sure
