Long time Lurker first time poster

I’ve played the global game a few times, with 3 players. Tommorow i’m going to play my first 4 player game.
I was wondering, how do you usually play or suggest splitting the countries, among 4 players?

I know the rules suggest 1 player for axis and 3 players for allies, but i think it would be more enjoyble if it is two players on each side.
Is it a terrible idea?

Iv’e tried looking trough the posts, but have not stumbled upon at discussion about it. Maybe i’m blind
